Yes, The Captain and I witnessed a shoplifter at a restaurant!
Today, the Captain suggested we go to one of our favorite seafood places for lunch! Sort of a reward for getting most things done before our Annual Christmas Open House on Sunday afternoon!
We literally mean open house as we open all the sliders front and back and inside the courtyard, making every room accessible to guests
The house is tidy (could always use another lick and a promise) But… most of the baking and candy making is finished! The Captain set up our outdoor heaters as we had heard (a week ago)… there would be temps in the 60’s…. however, as the weather is forever changing …the forecast is for 70-80’s now! Hardly a need for the tall heaters, but the Captain likes to be ready …just in case.
Sometimes he is just tooo thorough! But I will keep him around anyway! :
Back to the shoplifter….actually there were two of them! One we observed casing the joint before he actually brought his accomplice and did the deed. Easy in and Easy out!
What? You say! It is Christmas!….surely no one would do such a thing so close to the Holidays!
That is because you are not a beautiful black feathered beauty, with iridescent black and purple feathers glistening in the sun!
The object of their desire?
Packaged crackers!
In the above picture, you see Clyde casing out the basket of crackers on the table. See? he is perched on the back of a chair! Clyde is thinking…Easy in and Easy out!
Later Clyde flew back with Bonnie in tow! (I’m almost sure their names were Bonnie and Clyde)
OK….I just made their names up…I do that from time to time.
I do it because I can……;)
The picture above is Clyde allowing Bonnie to escape as he flies off last …bringing up the rear!
We were later told by the staff that they had to remove all the baskets of crackers on the outside tables because the birds were taking them off the table as fast as they could replenish them! There are four huge “garage door openings” that allow one to view the Marina, but also allows “shoplifters” to casually stroll in!
Well….it proved they are very resourceful! I would have loved watching them open the cellophane on the cracker packets!
I could have gotten some teachable points.
I can never open those silly things!
I suppose I could try using my teeth, but people might frown on that.
And I could lose some valuable teeth…you never know!
I love nature!
I love all God’s creatures!
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
