“When there’s silver in your hair, you won’t have to ask if I still care…”
Lyrics to the song “I Swear” by John Michael Montgomery….I just love that song. I am going to share a verse and chorus of the song….Remember I am a romantic! 😉
I’ll give you everything I can
I’ll build your dreams with these two hands
We’ll hang some memories on the wall
And when there’s silver in your hair
You won’t have to ask if I still care
‘Cause as time turns the page
My love won’t age at all
I swear
By the moon and stars in the sky, I’ll be there
I swear
Like the shadow that’s by your side, I’ll be there
For better or worse…Till death do us part
I’ll love you with every beat of my heart
I swear
Now that I have that out of my system, we will talk about Valentine’s Day!!…..I thought I would share with you how the Captain and I spent the day!
I had planned a Menu to make at home as I stated in an earlier post….however, The Captain called me from Grand Junction, Colorado (he was on a tour of flying) and asked if I would like going to “The Melting Pot ” for Valentine’s Day, A Fondue restaurant…see below or check out the link above!
The Captain said he knew I had planned to make a special dinner…but he thought it would be fun to go out to one of our special places…..So of course I said, Sure…which is a good thing because he had already made reservations!
Below is the dessert fondue…yummy chocolate! The meal starts out with cheese fondue and then goes on to the entree fondue, but the chocolate fondue is a must!
Ying and Yang of Dark and White Chocolate in one fondue pot!
Actually ….the Captain had to make last minute reservations, with the only available time of 3 pm…which was ok with me….more time to get home before the “rush” and relax.
So we were home by 5:30 pm and we snuggled in bed watching the Olympics… Ice Skating Singles (Men) and Skating Pairs and some Luge, Skeleton, and Down Hill Sking!
The Captain also gave me 1 dozen yellow roses and three Valentine cards. We do that for each other…we give a card in the morning and a card at Dinner and a card at bedtime.
The first card is a funny type card and the second card is sort of a general card and finally the last card is a serious card. I know it is silly giving 3 greeting cards….but we don’t exchange gifts (except he always gives me yellow roses) and it is our way of showing our humor and our love. (EXCEPT, this year I did purchase a little something on-line…more to come on that in tomorrow’s post!)
What did you and your honey do for Valentines Day?
Did you watch a special movie?
Did you go out to dinner?
Or did you get together with your friends and eat popcorn and watch movies or TV movies on TV?
Or did you just grab a bite to eat somewhere and go home and watch television show marathons?
Or did you watch the Olympics?
“I swear... ” ;)…..I have done all of those things at one Valentine’s Day or another and it is always fun and a nice memory!
Please tell me yours!

We went to a buffet for lunch, and when we got there it was packed. The reason why they were packed is because they were giving away free lunches to couples who had been married 50+ years. Wasn’t that nice of them. Of course, we haven’t been married that long, so we didn’t get the freebie.

Was the married 50 plus years to one person? haha! I am sure some could use a combined years! 😉
