We came home from church today and after having a wonderful dinner…the Captain and I decided to take a nap. Let me rephrase that, I decided to take a nap and the Captain decided to work in his office.
I am not sure what it is about eating a big Dinner after church on Sunday and nap time, but they seem synonymous. It seemed a shame to waste such a beautiful afternoon, but my argument was… it would be a short power nap. 20 minutes tops!
But the Roasted Turkey and Dressing with mashed potatoes and gravy made me lethargic. …and my 20 minute power nap turned into an hour!
I must have been really tired. At least that is my story, and I’m sticking to it! 😉
[ I do wear hats to church sometimes… and you never know when I might be invited to the Kentucky Derby! 🙂 ]
Sooooooo…. to give me a boost in energy, I decided to tidy up my closet. There was a reason to choose straightening the closet.
I couldn’t find the blouse that matched the long skirt I wanted to wear to church today. The set consists of a Mexican peasant blouse and maxi skirt in lime green, not exactly a color that blends in with the other colors, so at a glance I knew it was not where it was supposed to be hanging.
So I had to go to plan “B” and wear something else. As I was drifting off to dreamland at nap time, I found my thoughts thinking about the lost blouse and where it had disappeared to.
Do you ever do that? I just couldn’t let go of those thoughts,… so it was fresh on my mind when I awoke.
I knew it wasn’t in the laundry.
I am going to confess something to you now… When the Captain built shelves and put drawers in my walk in closet, he also put several “tiers” of hanging space. In fact I have one tier on one side of the closet that I have to use a step stool to reach the top. Remember I am vertically challenged. I keep items that I do not wear on a regular basis on that top tier.
What is my confession you ask?
I color code my closet! Perhaps you do too and it makes it so much easier to find something when all like colors hang together. Right? As I said, the blouse I looked for this morning, is lime green….one of my favorite colors.
On one side of the closet, the Captain built me little cubbies for my shoes and purses….I know it was silly, but I have a large purse that I carry with this outfit…..so I looked in the purse….don’t ask me what I was thinking…I was just grasping at straws. (no pun intended)
So I opened the purse and there in one of the little pockets….just gaping out at me was a $20.00 bill!
Eureka! I found gold…well, ok not gold, but green!
No blouse, but I will keep looking…later!
Right now I have a greenback burning a hole in my pocket…..I wonder if I can find a lime green peasant blouse at Macy’s?

LOL What a fun post, Kari. I like to take a nap on Sunday afternoon’s, especially, in the winter when there’s snow on the ground.
