Easy as Pie…..well, they sure make it look easy!
What am I talking about you ask?
As many of you, my dear readers know…the Captain and I Flip houses as a second job, so to speak. This is in addition to the Captain flying and me working on this Blog.
The screen went in yesterday at one of the flips….you know the screen that surrounds the pool?
So I took the step by step process and it certainly looks easy as pie to me!
Below are pics of how it was done.
A crew of three set up all their tools and ladders.
They carry in three roof pieces, two ends and one center that they have started screening out in that field where their truck is.
You know me, I had to make a joke, so I said to the shirtless guy…”golly, only very short people can swim in the pool, huh?”. He looked at me blankly…kind of like, lady…I am very busy here and if you don’t know that this is only the roof…then you have issues. After a few more quips, I did get him to laugh!
Side braces and bottom frames go up after a “laser shoot” for accuracy.
Left end roof piece is lifted up….
Middle section of the roof is lifted up easily and attached to the roof and to the left end piece.
Finally, the right end piece is lifted up and attached to the framework.
Remainder of bottom frames are screwed firmly to the foundation with exceptionally long screws.
The framework for two doors are put up and doors are added.
Now comes the screening…..pieces are cut and little cords are used to attach to the framework.
The side screening is put into place….the workers carry the little cords with them, usually wrapped around them. If I were doing that, I most likely would get it around my neck…and well…you know. 😉
The drain pipes are put into place next.
Another crew comes in and cuts off excess pipe and readies the pool for the interior finish and filling with water.
The pool is now ready for the interior finish and filling. After that, the screen crew will return and fill the bottom frame poles with cement and trim any excess screen.
Things like this fascinate me…
It doesn’t take much to make me happy!
More to come when the interior is finished out and the pool is filled…with water.
Have a great week-end!

thanks Annie, if you ever want to get away…we have plenty of room and in November Alligiant Airlines is going to fly non-stop from KC to Punta Gorda (just 20 minutes North of us here in Cape Coral) with fares starting at 49.00. They are a no frills airline, but unless you are going over the pond….of course you must have all kinds of miles/passes from TWA/American.
I know you have most likely been to Florida many times on your many travels, but perhaps I could show you something different. Or, we could just sit on the lanai or by the pool. Bring Jane or Diane or both! 😉
