Houston….you had a problem! And it was the Kansas City Royals last night in game 5 of the ALDS.
I’m sorry, my dear readers….today I am doing a happy dance!
You know how much of a sports fanatic I am, and my team, the Kansas City Royals took the American League Division Series (ALDS) by beating the Houston Astros in three out of five games.
Do you like or believe in signs?
No, not those kinds of signs, although I obviously like signs as I have them in my home.
No, I mean just a general feeling of something good preparing to happen.
I felt that way all day yesterday and when it became time for the big game to start…I was ready.
That is not to say there were not a few anxious moments.
I was being very “vocal” (loud in simpler terms) and Jesse James hid under the bed at first and as you can see from his expression….he was asking me if all was ok!
As soon as I explained that all was more than ok…my little Pom’s expression changed. Aren’t animals amazing?
Our starting pitcher was more than ok as he retired 19 Astros in a row. (if you are not a baseball fan, that means he either struck them out or they “popped out”.)
So that made the starting pitcher, Johnny Cueto happy.
Our mascot “Slugger”, was happy.
Our manager Ned Yost, was happy.
Our pinch runner, Jarrod Dyson was happy.
All the Kansas City Royals fans, were happy.
And the players were happy as they celebrated in the club house after the game.
And the Captain and I were happy along with our kids and grand kids…. as we kept texting back and forth through the whole game.
I guess you can say we are a sports oriented family.
And that is a good sign.
Of course it isn’t over until it’s over ….and now the Royals face the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday for the next step in taking the crown. Another best of five games for the ALCS (championship) title.
After that? The World Series!, but we are only taking it one game at a time.
Have a great Thursday, I am going to do another happy dance! 🙂

They were fantastic, Kari. I was watching on CST. These guys don’t know meaning of quit. They just keep going.
Kari says
I think that is one of the reasons I like these kids so much….they make it happen.
Are you ready for tonight? I think the Blue Jays are gonna be tough. thanks for stopping by.
Karole Jacobsen says
Hi…I guess we were dancing together…just in miles apart! What a game!
Kari says
So true Karole….I am so proud of those guys. Especially, when they don’t get much positive feedback from sports analysts. You would think the Midwest doesn’t exist in the sporting world. But that is ok…that way we keep a low profile and our name out of lights. 😉 As you know, I never miss a game and we have had a few “slow” games but the last two have been amazing.
