Lavender Blue Birthday Brunch and a very special Happy Birthday to my friend….the Counselor.
Happy Birthday my Friend!
My dear readers…..today is a special day for my Friend, the Counselor!
So I made a Lavender Blue Birthday Brunch for her today! Don’t ya just love birthdays and eating? I mean, come on…aren’t they synonymous?
Synonymous Definition: having the same meaning, strongly suggesting a particular idea, quality, etc. very strongly associated with something
Sooooo I made a few of my old brunch favorites and stand-by recipes to start the day off right for my friend. All recipes are located in my Recipe file.
Banana Nut Bread, Fruit Pizza, 24 Hour Sausage Omelet Casserole, and of course hot tea….it wouldn’t be brunch with the teapot, would it?
Let me just say that we didn’t just eat. We enjoyed the fellowship time and the ….wait for it….ok, the eating.:)
While we were sitting around talking girl-talk after our meal, the counselor’s sister called to wish her a happy birthday too… and the counselor told her sister….“I am at my girl friends’ house and we just had the best brunch.” Her sister thanked me for looking out for her sister. That is what friends are for, right?
The brunch was a bit bittersweet ….because my friend, the counselor …is going to be moving back to Colorado soon, to be nearer her family. I will certainly miss her, as will all the friends she has made while living in Florida.
Happy Birthday my friend…and enjoy the tulips! I am sure you will be able to take the bulbs back with you to Colorado after they have bloomed.
Have I told you that tulips and lilacs and peonies can not grow in Florida?
Another story for another time.
Enjoy your week-end, my dear readers and have your friend(s) over for brunch…..just because!
