My dear readers…I know the title of this post might be misleading, if you are reading it Fall In My Rocker, as if I have fallen and can’t get up because I fell into my rocker.
OR, perhaps you are reading it as I intended it….it is Fall or Autumn… and I love sitting in my rocker on the front “Porch”!
Now, to be clear, I don’t really have a front porch, but I do have a foyer…that is sorta like a front porch, in that it is where my front doors are located that lead into the courtyard…which lead to yet another set of front doors…
…..AND this front porch or foyer is covered with a small sorta roof and the tiles on the floor of the foyer are not cement like the walkway.
Are you totally confused yet?
Suffice it to say that it is a small area where I sometimes sit to do my daily devotions…
…and it is a small area that the Captain and I sometimes sit to watch the happenings of the neighborhood, because actually, it is our only window to the front of the house. Literally!
There is no way from inside the house to see anyone or anything that happens to be going down the street or up our walk.
That is why we installed cameras that we are able to view from inside the house.
But I digress.
I love decorating every area of our home for each season. It just makes me feel festive.
This morning as I sat drinking my cup of hot tea in/on my foyer….I couldn’t help but smile at some of my Fall decorating! I have said before that I like amusing Fall and Halloween decor and not the scary kind.
I love that it appears that someone with pointy shoes and black and orange leggings has fallen head first into one of my planter pots. (I really like the way the sunlight filters in and around this area)
It brings a smile to my face.
I love our two rockers that allow the Captain and I to sit and watch the world go by.
It is true that our really cool evenings have not arrived yet, but I am ready with plaid throws to lay over our laps in case they are needed.
I love the mum plants that are abundant in our garden centers and I love the colors of pumpkins and I love these happy faced pumpkins stacked on top of each other.
One thing I need to put on my “to do” list is to paint the bench that has resided in our foyer and other porches of our past houses.
At first, I liked the shabby chic affect and liked that the bench appeared well worn to go with our Tuscan type home.
However, since the Captain bought the two black rockers…their bright shiny appearance has made the bench appear all neglected, so I must either rough up the rockers or shine up the bench.
I believe I will shine up the bench AND repaint the front doors… because curb appeal is everything these days.
Are you decorating your front porches or stoops or foyers?
It really doesn’t take much to add a mum plant or pumpkin or two, now does it?
Blessings to all and enjoy your week.
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
