I thought I would share one last Easter Tablescape using my Flower Petal dishes.,
This Flower Petal dish tablescape was a last minute, impromptu affair with our friends.
I have had these Flower Petal dishes for at least 19 years and I never tire of the sweet lavender and soft pink petals that make up the dinner plate, salad plate, soup bowl and Petal cup and leaf saucer.
The set has a lavender teapot, with creamer and sugar…as well as flower-bud salt and pepper shakers.
I used white bunny rabbit place card holders and pale green water glasses. The napkins sport shell napkin rings.
There is a story behind these pastel dishes.
I have had them for over 19 years. Besides the soft pastel color these Flower Petal dishes, they are also very versatile and I have used the dishes with a lavender tablecloth and napkins, a pink tablecloth and napkins, a yellow tablecloth and napkins, a blue tablecloth and napkins, the green tablecloth and napkins seen above …and a white tablecloth and napkins.
All colors look great with these show stoppers.
Forgive the lighting on the above tablescape pic from 19 years ago…..the tablecloth is pale blue and the water goblets are purple. I used pink flatware and green and pink Easter Egg salt and pepper shakers.
If you can’t already guess…I really, really really like these dishes.
I love the dinner plates as I have 2 lavender and two pink…as I have with the salad plates and tea cups. I love to reverse them as you can see at this table setting.
There is no printed label on the bottom of the dishes, so I have no idea who made them.
I do know that I bought them at the Floral Shop of a supermarket called Sun Fresh in Kansas City. They were never in the grocery store itself, but stacked in the Floral Department with all the vases and urns and flowers.
When I saw them…I just couldn’t resist them and bought the 5 place setting for four, mixing up the pink and lavender. The lavender teapot, creamer and sugar completed my set, although it was hard not to purchase the pink teapot, creamer and sugar too.
When I went back to the store a few days later…the pink teapot, creamer and sugar were gone. Someone else must have loved them too….although I have a suspicion that the Florist snapped them up. I say that because she had just set them up when I walked into the store, and when I saw the little round table so pretty in lavender and pink…I grabbed my basket and loaded up as many as I could. The florist told me she had fell in love with them and added them to her Floral display. They were a bit expensive…but I only hesitated for a few seconds…and now 19 years later…I still smile when I set a table with them.
It is silly to get emotional over a set of dishes, and I wish I could say this is the only set I get emotional about.
Just look under the tablescapes category under my header of this Blog.
Just the child in me I guess….I just love to play with dishes. 🙂
Have a great and beautiful day.
