WALL-E Has Come To Live At Villa de la Luna!
You might ask…who is WALL-E?, or perhaps more accurately….”WHAT” is WALL-E?
Do you remember my post from about a year ago explaining all about Eve?
Ok, Sorry… that was a play on the old black and white movie starring Bette Davis.
This, however…is about a movie from 2008.
So who is “EeeeeeVaaaaaa”?
Click here to read about “Eva, Our Own Little Robot”!
A little background for those of you who want the facts, nothing but the facts.
Back in 2008…the Captain and I saw the Pixlar movie WALL-E!!!
We loved this little yellow robot.
You see, WALL-E, short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class, is the last robot left on Earth. He spends his days tidying up the planet, one piece of garbage at a time.
But during 700 years, WALL-E has developed a personality, and he’s more than a little lonely.
Then along comes blue and white Eva and WALLE is not lonely anymore.
Fast forward to the present….only reverse the scenario at Villa de la Luna.
This time Eva (our pool cleaner) is lonely for WALL-E……
……..OK, in my mind, Eva may clean our pool but she is always looking longingly towards the large sliding doors for her WALL-E.
…..And I have to confess that I’ve been looking longingly for WALL-E too!
And now my dear friends, the Captain has bought me an early Mother’s Day present….
Enter WALL-E, the IRobot Roomba 980, our new silver and black robotic floor cleaner!
(OK, WALL-E is not black and yellow as he was in the movie)
I am so excited and even though WALL-E was a bit on the expensive side….he is definitely worth every penny of the Captain’s hard earned money. 🙂
We programed WALL-E to daily clean up pet hair and anything else that lands on my floors and rugs.
The Captain and I (as well as Jesse James) are fascinated watching WALL-E zip around on all of our floor surfaces.
We have Tile, Bamboo and large floor rugs in almost every room and WALL-E does not shy away from any of them.
Our little white pom, Jesse James is not sure what to think about this new addition to our home.
He is so cute when he cocks his head as soon as WALL-E backs out of the charging station and begins the cleaning process.
I grabbed my camera the first time WALL-E’s green light came on and he started cleaning, but he is so busy cleaning… he doesn’t like to stop for pictures and it is difficult to see the little brushes on each side that not only get up close to the baseboards but does not “bang” into my furniture.
He truly saves me so much time in not only cleaning my floors, but under the beds and furniture.
No more dust bunnies!
But you know who is the most fascinated with watching this cleaner?
Yep! The Captain.
When WALL-E first backed out of the charger and began to work a pattern around the living/dining room, the Captain sat on the floor trying to figure out the “algorithm” …and every now and then, I could hear a chuckle as he marveled at the efficiency of this little cleaner.
I do recommend this robotic cleaner, and I get no compensation for my recommendation. This is truly my own opinion.
I have to admit that I have always wanted one of this little round cleaners and I was a bit skeptical as to how well they cleaned….but after having WALL-E around for the last week…I love this revolutionary cleaner.
I also love that it cleans multiple rooms and that it senses stairs and Jesse’s water and food bowls, being careful to skirt around them.
And now for the best part.
IF I am away from home and I want to have WALL-E clean an unscheduled cleaning of my floors….I can use my IPhone to “tell” him to get busy.
Yes, I can control him with my Smart Phone.
Wow! I can invite friends to my home while eating out or meeting them unexpectedly and know that WALL-E will be working hard to get everything in tip-top shape by the time I get home.
How convenient is that?
And then there is the “Clean Map”™ which shows me where WALL-E has cleaned, along with details such as coverage and duration from his completed jobs.
I can also receive Push Notifications when WALL-E completes his cleaning job – all on my smartphone.
Yep! WALL-E is definitely a welcome addition to our family.
I am sure EeeeVaaaa is happy to see WALL-E scooting around inside the house while she scoots around in the pool in the courtyard.
Yes, I am convinced it is a happily ever after story!
Hugs to all.
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
