July, definitely a Mr. if you ask me.
Of course, I have to be the total romantic and my thoughts concerning the “he or she” of the months of the year, are naturally in those romantic terms.
If you have missed the previous months…you can click on the links to see

To see Miss May, click here.
To see Miss June, click here.
…depending on your point of view.
Remember, I love knights in shining armor, rainstorms on warm summer evenings and sunrises and sunsets!
So I might be a bit prejudiced.
To determine the gender of July…let us think about the first meeting of two people wanting to know each other better.
Mr. July comes in quietly and slowly, boiling in the summer heat for some.
He might begin his demeanor by being quiet and observant in his desire to impress.
Once he has the attention of his intended, he might begin by strutting around like a peacock, showing his strengths and prowess.
If he is the studious type….he may show his knowledge of the stars and the skies and his way with shifting the words of the English language for deeper meanings.
So no matter the “type” of man he is….he is still wanting to impress in his own special way.
By the time the 4th of July rolls around, this guy is pulling out all the stops.
There is the initial big bang, followed by the coolness of the evening sky, lighting up in glorious colors that appear to have been placed there, personally by Mr. July.
Yes, he misses nothing as he “struts” his stuff, oblivious to all around him, including the crowd of people who have suddenly appeared.
There are people in wooly hats, children perched on parent’s shoulders, teenagers staring at the LED screens of their smart phones as wisps of smoke drift through the dark sky.
Reds! Greens! Blues! Whites! And multi-colored displays that bring murmurs of quiet oohs and aahs, coming from deep with-in the crowd.
He doesn’t hear them and you are glad he has positioned your viewing site a distance from the excited viewers of the night works!
Mr. July has eyes and ears for only you.
The colorful, brilliant displays build and build….. always saving the biggest and best display for last….
…….And then you sense that“it” is about to happen.
The anticipation for the finale is almost more than one can bear. the atmosphere is tense!
You don’t smell the acrid smell of spent black powder or the resulting sulfur odor….
…..but you watch, mesmerized, hand in hand, close to your hero.
My friends, It is Mr. July who has your complete attention and affection!
It is no wonder that Mr. July’s birthstone is the sparkling, red ruby. Gorgeous isn’t it?
And the flower?
There are two.
Of course there are.
The Larkspur which indicates strong bonds of love. Look at the two colors of the flowers…hmmmmm! Different, but alike.
And the water lily, which signifies purity and majesty.
Now come on…surely this reinforces the gender of July, don’t ya think?
Add to that tally, there is the rest of the month, which can be all things.
Stormy, Sultry, Steamy, Sticky, Hot beyond belief and yet after a summer rain, it can be …..
……refreshing, dreamy, endless …soft, cooling, sun-kissed and delightful!
That my dear readers, describes Mr. July to me.
How about you?
