Hmmmmm…on this Sunday…what to title this post, … and I guess This N’ That would be good, because it will cover a variety of subjects.
Early this morning after our Daily Devotions, the Captain and I went to church.
Our church has 3 services,… One Traditional service at 8:30-9:30 a.m., and two Contemporary services at 9:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Call us old-fashioned, but we prefer the Traditional with the old hymns. And so do most of our fellow parishioners over the age of 40! 🙂 So after the Service this morning, the Captain and I went to a brunch at a favorite restaurant.
We had decided we would venture over to see Ozzie and Harriet after our meal…so we did just that. For those who do not know who Ozzie and Harriet are, they are the beautiful eagles who just hatched
out two little pips, in front of the Eagle Cam that is mounted next to their huge nest in an old, large pine tree. The owner of the property has had the Eagle cam in place for several years and when the Eagles return to the North in early Spring, the camera(s) are adjusted and serviced. The same pair (Ozzie and Harriet) have been together 20 years and have been the proud parents of at least 7 eaglets…most likely more than that. They return to Florida in October and start their nest remodeling in preparation of their new family.
The trip to the nest took us about 3o minutes and well worth the trip to see Ozzie perched high in a tree about 30 yards from the nest and Harriet sitting proudly on her two peeping young eaglets. (yes, you need binoculars to see them) In the pic below…Ozzie is sitting on a branch on the side of the tree.
He wouldn’t pose for me…:(
Now I am going to tell you something that is so special to us…..The Captain and I did not mention to anyone that we were going to go visit the Eagle’s Nest. This is important because of what I am about to tell you.
The Captain and I stayed at the site for about 20 minutes visiting with another couple who also came to see the Eagles. The skies were a grayish blue with a bit of intermittent rain…or I should say “the drizzles”.
All of a sudden I felt the need for a bathroom!…..By the way, I have told the Captain that if anything ever happens to me, donate all my organs to science, but not my kidneys….because they have “issues” 😉
I believe it was the rain…or maybe it is just my fate to always feel the need to be close to a bathroom. So, we got in the car and headed down the street about 1/2 block to Walgreens.
Back in the car, my cell phone rang and one of my twins…the one who lives in Kansas said. “hey Mom, I am looking at the Eagle Cam… , Why don’t you guys go over there and I can see you as well as seeing the Eagles!” He was teasing about us dropping everything and driving to the Eagles Nest…but what he didn’t know was that we had been there and were only 1/2 block away and could easily drive back….which we did. (Below is the website of the Eagle Cam in case you missed it in my Eagle Cam post).

After arriving back at the Eagle’s nest, we waved at the Eagle Cam and did other silly things and Twin number 1 took pictures with his IPhone of our images on his laptop, through the lens of the Eagle Cam! That is the Captain and I to the left side of the pic…see our blue car? We are the two dots in front of what looks like a sidewalk….it is really just a ditch. Isn’t that wild?
We thought it was wild…..
But as I have said before, it doesn’t take much to make us laugh!
Later, we drove down to the Bay and watched as a fisherman through threw his “crates” into the water and retrieved stone crab. (See pics above) The seagulls followed the nets and we sat there for the longest time just enjoying the view. You can see by the picture that it was still drizzling……
yep! you know what comes next…..
Well, we needed to get home to watch the football games anyway…
Did I tell you we are both huge football fans?
Kansas City Chiefs…..
Oh, I have told you that before. 😉

The eagle is beautiful, Kari. I wish we’d been there.
