As we get a good start into the new year…., some of us are thinking organization, some of us are thinking healthy options and some of us, …like me are just thinking. 🙂

That takes effort too! Just thinking!

I have to confess, I am a Jewelry Junkie, mostly costume jewelry.

Yes, I do have a few pieces of the real stuff! A pair of diamond ear rings that the Captain bought me years ago and of course, the diamond wedding bands…well, at least I think they are real.  They look real, but now that I think about it… I have never had a Jewelers Eye Loupe to them.    Hmmmm…that might be another post.

However, I do have lots of jewelry that I have collected over the last 40 years.  

I just can’t seem to toss any of it or recycle any of it!

It is a part of me! 

I would imagine when the time comes for me to move on to the better world, my children will toss all my costume jewelry in a large basket and put it in a Garage Sale with a note of $5.00 or best offer!

I don’t care!  I won’t think about that right now. It would make me sad!

In the pic you will see a black and white ear-ring that looks like an Automobile emblem, a chevron of sorts. (See? upper right on the slide show pic)  … I really like that ear-ring…there used to be two of them, but over the years something happened to the other one and I just can’t bear to part with that one ear ring. I know I will find the other one…some day! So I keep it as it goes so well with black and white outfits and I do wear a lot of black and white, …

because black is slimming! When I put that one ear-ring on…I feel slimmer already!;)

I was fortunate enough to find a solution to my little piles of jewelry stationed by my night stand, my bathroom vanity and yes, I have to confess…beside my little desk (laptop station) in my kitchen. 

Well, sometimes I get inspiration at a moments notice for a post to this Blog or additions to the novel(s) that have been in progress for 5 years. So as I eagerly start typing, I will remove ear rings or bracelets or rings… as my fingers fly over the keys… knowing that this could be the road to the Pulitzer Prize, or a spot on the Today Show or at least on the NYTimes Bestseller List and I must not have distractions of clanging, dangling, jangling jewelry.

The solution? See below!

The Jewelry Case can hang on a wall, over a door or stand on a floor stand. I didn’t have the space for a floor stand, so the Captain hung mine on a wall in our Master Bath.

Rings are organized!

 

Bracelets, necklaces are organized…well, kind of…at least they are not tangled and are easily seen.

 

Pins are organized!

 

 

OK, I have to confess…I know you can see the different finishes! I have three of these jewelry cabinets! Two white and one black. These cabinets come in different finishes, depending on the manufacturer.  Black, Oak, white etc….I have linked to two different websites if you are interested.  

Now, all I need is for someone to put the jewelry into the cabinets!  I am workin’ on that!

I am sure you noted the Ruby-Red slipper in the pile of jewelry pic.

Doesn’t everyone from Kansas have Ruby-Red slippers?
