A dear friend of ours, gave me the definition of an Australian term “Sticky Beak” as a person who puts his or her nose into other people’s business… or one could say “she is a bit of a sticky beak”!
I think it is a good description for this “funny” for today. The title of this joke, as it came to me was “How to stop church gossip” and of course it is meant as a joke, and I forward the joke with love in my heart for all our fellow parishioners, I am certain we don’t have any gossips in our church as Pastor has preached on this subject several times. 🙂
Perhaps this will be your laugh for the day and could apply to anyone, not just a church member. For those of you old enough, I am sure you remember nosey Mrs. Kravitz who lived across the street from Samantha and Darrin on the television sitcom “Bewitched”. I would think Mrs. Kravitz could be described as the Ultimate sticky beak! ;0
I just love comedies!
I love to laugh!
I love to laugh at myself too…

How to stop church Gossip
Mildred, the church gossip and self-appointed monitor of the church’s morals, kept sticking her nose into other people’s business.
Several members did not approve of her extra-curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused Frank, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town’s only bar one afternoon.
She emphatically told Frank (and several others) that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing!
Frank, a man of few words, looked at her for a moment and just turned and walked away. He didn’t explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing.
Later that evening, Frank quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred’s house, walked home …. and left it there all night.
You gotta love Frank’s sense of humor!
