Ingredients
  1. 8 cups flour
  2. 1/4 cup baking powder
  3. 4 teaspoons salt
  4. 1 1/2 cups Lard (Crisco if you don't want to use lard)
  5. milk (to make a sticky dough)
Instructions
  1. This mix can be made ahead of time and kept in a cool place until ready to use.
  2. Mix in enough milk to make a sticky dough and turn out onto a floured surface
  3. Cut with a biscuit cutter or use a glass as Aunt Sally used to do
  4. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown
Notes
  1. This might sound like a lot of biscuits and it is...you may cut the portions in half or in thirds. I wouldn't keep this mix more than a week in the fridge...but it does make light and flaky biscuits.
  2. This recipe is from the Brookville Hotel Restaurant in Abilene, Kansas.
