Home Made Biscuit Mixture
2014-02-07 20:47:59
A light and fluffy biscuit mix that you keep in the fridge until ready to use.
Ingredients
- 8 cups flour
- 1/4 cup baking powder
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 cups Lard (Crisco if you don't want to use lard)
- milk (to make a sticky dough)
Instructions
- This mix can be made ahead of time and kept in a cool place until ready to use.
- Mix in enough milk to make a sticky dough and turn out onto a floured surface
- Cut with a biscuit cutter or use a glass as Aunt Sally used to do
- Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown
Notes
- This might sound like a lot of biscuits and it is...you may cut the portions in half or in thirds. I wouldn't keep this mix more than a week in the fridge...but it does make light and flaky biscuits.
