Movie Review..or not!
Movies! I do like to see movies. I like movies in theaters and I like movies on TV!
I also like to purchase movies that are exceptionally good and I watch them over and over.
I know …I am weird like that. 😉
I have seen some movies so many times that I lose count of just how many times!
Movies like “Sleepless in Seattle“ or “Somewhere in Time“ or “You’ve Got Mail“….
or even older movies….like “Gone with the Wind“ or “Mutiny on the Bounty“ or “Casablanca” or “Schindler’s List“ or “The Godfather” or “The Lord of the Rings” or “Star Wars” or “The Hobbit”...just to name a few..…
The Captain and I went to see the movie “August: Osage County” with Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep.
This movie was a troublesome movie detailing a very dysfunctional family.
I like Julia Roberts…..I loved her in “Pretty Woman” and “Steel Magnolias“
I guess I am wanting to see happy endings and movies that make me laugh….Or a true story…Or an autobiography…Or a romantic chick flick….those are the kinds of movies I like….
I like Meryl Streep! I loved her in “Out of Africa” and “The Bridges of Madison County“
This was definitely not a happy movie and I didn’t laugh through any of it.
I like Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep!
The movie was filmed in Northern Oklahoma near Bartlesville…..an area I have been to… and through… many, many times.
It didn’t help to see familiar scenery…
The movie I mean….
The movie has garnered award nominations….
Have you seen this movie?
If so, how would you rate it?
Oh, the picture in the slide show at the top of this post…doesn’t have anything to do with this post.
It is just a Bougainvillea Bush growing in my Secret Garden close to the Banana Trees and Areca Palms! The temp here is 73 degrees.
Just sayin’ 😉
Me…getting ready to watch “Sleepless in Seattle” for the upteenth time……:)

Well, since we are talking World War II movies in your other blog of Monuments Men, and speaking of Meryl Streep: I just returned Holocaust (3 discs) to the Cape Coral Library today. It was a mini-series for CBS produced in 1978…James Woods and Meryl Streep are much younger! Anyway, I recommend it if you are in an OMG fog about what the Nazis pulled off!

I feel the same way. Jen and I saw it last week I did laugh a few times. It was a very depressing, sad and left me thinking my family “thank you god” we are not even close to all that drama that was in that movie. I won’t be renting or buying that movie. I wished it had a better ending but sometimes it is what it is and you have to walk away. Julia Roberts character did the right thing.

There were so many stories within stories within stories…and each one worse than the last.

I like some movies more than once, but not very often, Kari.
