Ahhhhhh the Sands of Time….the small granules of sand are falling faster and faster into that hourglass!
One dear friend of mine posted that she would like to see pictures of the Captain and I…..so I am going to go back in time and show the progression because we don’t want to be the cause of any shock attacks! 😉
Once upon a time, there was a red head ……her name was… “Me”! 🙂
“Me” worked for a major airplane manufacturer, supporting a major airline. “Me” worked with 3 really nice guys and for a joke one day, “Me” dressed in a suit and tie and it just so happened that on that particular day, One of the guys decided we needed a Christmas picture of the four of us to send with our Christmas Greetings to the airline.
I know you haven’t figured out which Airline we supported! 🙂
And there was this Captain…..flying planes hither and yon….
They met and fell in love!
And they got married…and the groom looked scared!
The wedding party consisted of the Twins who walked “Me” down the aisle, The best man who happened to be from the FAA, My sister, My BFF and the friend who introduced us a year earlier.
The cake looked like a stack of presents frosted in beautiful fondant!
The Groom’s cake was a replica of one of Kansas City’s area airport runways… made by Only Daughter. The cake was the Groom’s favorite Carrot Cake!
The Captain and I went to Europe and Africa for our honeymoon. Here we are in Rome at the Coliseum!
When “Me’s” hair started getting grey…no, that is not correct! It started getting white at the roots! The hair dresser suggested letting it grow out and in the transition, we bleached it a blonde!
The other option was to dye the roots a red to match the shaft of the hair….. but when that effort resulted in bright orange roots, we decided to go the blonde route. (I was beginning to look like Lucile Ball) 😉
So to all who have known me as a red head all my life…. you know that I am now a blonde….with white roots!
My Mother had the most beautiful white hair as she got older….in fact her friends asked if she colored it and she replied that she did not.
I have been blonde for about 1 year now….and I am still shocked when I look in the mirror and the red head is not looking back at me….
My nickname used to be “Red” …. and now it has become “Blondie”!
Me….not red anymore!
