The Lady of Camellias!
I went out to the Lanai after church on Sunday and noticed that one of the bowls of Camellias surrounding the waterfall looked…well, looked wilted!
I laughed out loud!
So you say…perhaps some water would help!
No, water is not the issue here…well, it did have something to do with its condition… wind, sun and water!
Nothing is going to help this Camellia.
As I am sure you observed in the pic, this silk Camellia has seen better days…
The Captain said he “fished” it out of the waterfall and that I was looking at the result of an overnight “swim” in the water. You never know what your plants and flowers are doing while you are sleeping!! 🙂
I normally like the real deal when it comes to flowers and plants, but the Florida sun can really drain the life out of a real flower/plant if it is planted in a small pot.
One should really water such a plant at least twice a day, three times would be even better.
I discovered early on that I could use silk plants/flowers in these small pots that are placed strategically around the semi-circle of the water fall and they would look great.
I have had friends ask me how I grow such a beautiful apricot/peach colored Camellia in such a small pot. I laugh and show them that the Camellias are not real, but artificial. They appear amazed!
Either that or they are humoring me. 🙂
Soooo it is time to replace these little beauties. Maybe I will come up with a new color, but I liked the way the peachy colored Camellias coordinated with the round brown pots and the tiles on the Lanai…..
Have a great Monday!
