I’ve Looked at Clouds That Way…meaning I have seen cloud formations that resemble all kinds of things.
I see elephants…and puppy dogs…and kitty cats…and people’s faces at different stages in their lives.
“Rows and floes of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I’ve looked at clouds that way….”
Joni Mitchell, the famous singer and songwriter… wrote those lyrics to the song…Both Sides Now and I love the way she describes her viewing of clouds and their formations.
I have always loved clouds and try to take pictures of them when I think they are particularly beautiful.
Perhaps others don’t see what I see…..ok, perhaps I am an illusionist….but I believe they are beautiful…even when they are ominous
…and when the sun is involved, …They are amazing!:
Late afternoon found our little village by the Sea….with a few rain showers in the area.. The clouds changed by the seconds, giving me some great picture opportunities!
I am going to share a few of these pictures of clouds from right here in Cape Coral….
And as you can see…clouds change dramatically …as they nestle in and about the beaches, palm trees, docks and structures!
The sky goes from grey to a deep blue to pink!
As the Sun sets….there is a mere sprinkling of raindrops which makes everything smell so fresh and new!
There is nothing like a Marina with the sun and clouds reflecting upon the still waters.;)
All too soon…the display is over and I am left with the sun saying …
“I will see you tomorrow…..be there, and I will show another amazing site”
Genesis 1:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and have a great week-end!!

Hi Donna….Judy Collins did a great job with this song….1967…wow! doesn’t seem like that long ago….does it? I have it on my play list too…as you said in regards to Judy Collins…as we age…we look through different eyes…innocence gone for some.
I tease the Captain that he and I are just kids at heart…and he says he doesn’t want to grow up!;0
Anyway Joni Mitchell’s lyrics gives us things to think about, huh?
thanks for stopping by.

Lovely post, Kari. Hubby and I have been cloud watching a lot lately.
When I was a kid, we laid in the front yard and watched the clouds as they made formations. Those were the days, and kids really miss out today because they don’t take the time to enjoy the little things.

Isn’t it fun Sandy? watching clouds…we love it too!
There are too many distractions for most kids these days.
Gosh, the most exciting thing we as kids had on our agenda’s was watching cars go down our country road and wondering where they were going! 😉
thanks for stopping by.

I have this song on my playlist by Judy Collins once singing it as a young woman, and then singing it in her senior years. Life looks different from those vantage points and she embodies that with her voice, tempo and tone.
