Two out of Top Three Ain’t Bad….when it comes to the NBA drafting of college basketball players.
And two of them were Kansas Jayhawks!
Yes, my readers…this will be about sports.
You know how I love college basketball and when there are really good players…naturally they go on to the professional teams, where they can actually get paid for their talents!
While they are playing for the NCAA College Basketball teams…fans are able to see through watching games and tournaments just which players have the talent to go further or which players play very well…. but unfortunately they are not considered good enough for the professional teams.
That is life….some of us are able to pursue dreams through our talents or through sheer determination, but the majority of us just become the status quo. …and there is certainly nothing wrong with that! 😉
We do what we can with what we have got and pursue other dreams.
The NBA draft is one of those dreams that many college basketball players dream about.
And when one is fortunate enough to be selected by a professional team through the draft…lets just say that is a good thing!
Every year there is a debate about which player will be considered the number one draft pick.
Speculation and second guessing is the norm because no one really knows until the actual “Draft” which professional team is going to select which college basketball player.
NBA Scouts go to the different colleges throughout the year…watching first hand if a player looks to have the talent to be a professional player.
And if the coach has done his job molding and teaching raw talent….and the player has put forth much effort to become a good player…then that player can assume he will be drafted.
The first round of the NBA Draft was last evening.
And the player considered to be the number one draft pick ….was Andrew Wiggins from Kansas Jayhawk Basketball under the skillful direction of Coach Bill Self.
The number two draft choice went to Duke University…Jabari Parker under the tutelage of Coach K.rzyzewski (Coach K)
And the number 3 draft pick went back to Kansas Jayhawk Basketball again ….Joel Embiid!
What an honor for Kansas Basketball that they would produce two out of the three top draft picks.
Congratulations Coach Self!
Congratulations Kansas Basketball! It is indeed a proud day for Kansas Jayhawk Basketball!
Now all we need to do is work up a new team …minus the talents that these two spectacular players provided.
Good luck with the Cavaliers…..Andrew Wiggins !!!
Good luck with the 76ers …Joel Embiid!
And of course Good Luck to Jabari Parker and the Milwaukee Bucks!
Now, the Jayhawks must prepare for a new year with a new team and I will be sitting front row…popcorn in hand, cheering them on!
Well, front row of my sofa….now that we live in Florida! 🙂
Have a great day…

Great post, Kari. You couldn’t have picked a better topic than the draft and Kansas Basketball. K.U. is my favorite basketball team.
Bill Self should be a proud papa. Smile!
