Pharaohs and Kings…Revisited!
Do you remember my post titled “Pharaohs and Kings”?
This is the post that I wrote a poem about that snooty cat. (you can also put “Pharaohs and Kings” in the search bar to see the poem) if you so desire….:)
In the poem, I described a visiting, adult, black and white cat which remained aloof, head high in the air.
I coaxed it to come sit with me, but the cat remained fixed on the fence among the palms and fronds of our Secret Garden.
It was driving me crazy that the silly cat would not let me pet it. (well, more crazy than I already am) 😉
Un-be-knownst to us….I don’t think there is such a word …un beknown perhaps, but unbeknownst???
Anyway…unbeknowst to us….a scenario had taken place a couple days before our monthly potluck.
Here is what happened: A friend of ours was on his morning walk, when he saw a lady “dump” a kitty near the boat ramp of a canal.
Of course our friend rescued the little thing…which is barely 6 weeks old, according to the vet.
At the potluck,….(It was the Saturday of the Belmont Stakes horse race), I mentioned the adult black and white cat that has visited my Secret Garden from time to time.
Of course, the person I mentioned it to…was the friend (strangely enough) who found the little kitten a couple days before.
He and his wife had taken the kitten to the vet and she got a clean bill of health…along with a few shots etc.
Our friend and his wife, already have two adult cats, but they were seriously thinking of keeping the little kitten, because they could not turn it over to the shelter.
That is until I mentioned “Pharaohs and Kings” …..and the elusive black and white cat.
Long story short….three days later we visited that little kitty AND…you guessed it! the kitty is black and white!
And the kitty came home with us! I think that is the kitty happy face dance! 😉
Right now the kitty has no name….
Please give me suggestions for a name for this little rescue kitten.
Gotta go….The kitty thinks it is play time right now ….well, the kitty thinks it is play time almost all the time.
Have a great Tuesday!

LOL Sucker! That kitten owns you now, but it’s mommy picked you out for him/her. I’m so glad you took the wee one in. You know I’m a huge cat lover, Kari. She/he is adorable.
My suggestion for a name is Patches.
