Finding Something I Can’t Live Without…
That is what I say each time I visit a Garage Sale or any kind of sale for that matter.
The Captain is used to hearing me say…”I’m going to run in here a minute and see if there is something that I can’t live without!” 🙂
Many times I return empty handed…but it is like the lottery…you can’t win if you don’t play! 🙂
Those who know me….know that I much prefer shopping on line…but the “Old Time Pottery” store is the exception…and no two “Old Time Pottery” Stores are alike!
Yesterday it was raining and the Captain was flying, so I decided to shop for a few things for the Flip House.
I have a confession to make….I never…and I mean never, leave that store without something.
They have things you might not find anywhere else.
If you are not familiar with the store, it is a lot like “Tuesday Morning“…
And if you are not familiar with that store either, let me just tell you that if you see something and don’t buy it….don’t expect it to be there the next time you go.
I took a few pictures while shopping to show you our “Old Time Pottery” Store.
Perhaps you have a store near you, but if you don’t…come along with me. I am sure you will see something of interest. 🙂
There are rows and rows of dinnerware, by the piece and in sets.
In any color you need….
There are rows and rows of paintings and just plain pictures.
There are decor items…..
I just love these old fans! Reminds me of growing up.
And if you want a rustic look….
I buy many of my bowls and plates to show off a recipe that I have made. That way you aren’t seeing the same old plates all the time.
These are just some of the bake ware….
These are cake plates of every color….I do own 40 sets of dishes, but I still like to purchase single pieces. ;0
Remember the old camping tin ware?
I especially like the Hibiscus plates….and yes, I did buy one with the giant yellow hibiscus, for $2.99.
Stock pot anyone? This is only a partial aisle of stock pots of all sizes and prices.
Aren’t these dogs cute? They are about 15 inches tall.
And these dogs are a little over 2 feet tall.
These candle stands can be spray painted and used for other things….I like to re-purpose some of the stuff I buy. 🙂
I like decor pieces like this one….
And this one….
And isn’t this little chef cute? He is about 36 inches tall….and you can write on his skillet.
And speaking of skillets….Here are some Lodge pieces.
My corn bread pans have points…if you remember the post below, I talk about cast iron. If you missed it..click on the link below.

.
These vases can be used as waste baskets too….beautiful glass.
I really like this copper piece.
And here is a wine holder….there are many styles, sizes and shapes…and colors.
And of course large pots….love them!
More pots…
Rows and rows of lamps….
Silk Flowers….
Bean Bag Chairs of all colors.
Fall Decor….I can’t believe Fall is getting close.
And Christmas? So soon????
Yes…even Christmas!
And more Christmas….
Aren’t these cupcake ornaments original?
More ornaments and they are about 2 inches long….
So you are probably asking what I bought besides the hibiscus plate….well, I came away with this bargain for the outside entry of the Flip House.
And this domed piece….seriously, I most likely will use three sizes in the corner of the cabinets….
I didn’t buy these, but I think they are kinda cool….they are plastic drinking cups on a light string. They also come in a red, white and blue string.
They would be great for a picnic, don’t ya think?
Shopping is exhausting!
I need a rest….but then I always think I need a rest after Church and lunch.
I think that is just a “given”….:)
Enjoy the rest of your week-end!

I love browsing through these kinds of shops. I’m familiar with Tuesday Morning shops. Wink! I’m not sure where they are now.

Hi Sandy
There used to be an Old Time Pottery Store in KC…in fact I bought my Christmas Carolers there….don’t know if you remember them, but they stand about 4 feet tall with a lamp post that is about 5 feet tall. I still set them out at Christmas…!
Thanks for stopping by 😉

OMG, a shoppers heaven….. The domed piece is lovely and so many other things to admire and Christmas already….. I use a different phrase… just going to “liberate” something…
Bit worried about my trip to visit you…. last year my Samantha put the decorations up before my toes reach the sand… and that was November, so a trip away in September might be tooooo tempting for her… Hehe.
Keep busy…. as if you ever rest…

Let’s hope she thinks September is toooooo early! 😉
Yes, I have to admit…I really like “liberating things” in that store. 🙂
