The Week in Review….
Notice I said “week” in review!
The Captain and I had a very busy last couple of weeks, nothing out of the ordinary, but just busy…. and I would like to share a few pics with you. 🙂
Christmas Eve was spent on the water….we took a boat tour of Christmas Decorations of the homes on the Gulf and canals.
So pretty…there is something about being on the water on a “jacket chilly” night and drinking hot chocolate, seeing all the bright and colorful light displays.
Out to dinner at the Japanese Steak House…
Great food and entertainment. I never tire of the talents of the chefs. (Onion tower or “volcano” as the Chef announces)
In the Secret Garden, my Christmas Cactus burst into bloom….as if on cue on Christmas Morning…the “leaves had little points on them a few days before and then they just exploded with the most beautiful shades of red and pink.
So beautiful and the plant never ceases to amaze me!
Also, the beautiful Ibis love to search for bugs and insects in our lawn! Christmas Day was no exception!
I just love to watch them…they go from lawn to lawn getting their breakfast! Some Ibis are scarlet in color….no, not a flamingo. 🙂
Jesse James enjoyed his “ball cap”…I have a car seat for him and when we put the convertible top down…the sun gets into his eyes. I am thinking of getting him some shades when I find something small enough! 😉
A few days ago, I was stopped at a stop light and saw this interesting car.
I am no quite sure what kind of car it was…but it sure looked odd. (Excuse my mirror in the pic…I wasn’t exactly prepared to snap a pic with my phone!
The Captain and I drove around our little city of Cape Coral one evening and looked at the light displays from our car.
Some more elaborate than others….one display attracts so many people they have to have a traffic control. Their display is synced with music.
I also gave my last dinner party of the year with another “Frozen” Themed dinner. I had 3 of these dinners, perhaps you saw the other two posts Celebration of Winter! and The Second Time Around…Our group is large and this afforded us a more intimate time together to really get to know each other.
These beautiful ladies have also been given “special names” by yours truly, as you know I always do…
They are: (in no particular order) Counselor, Bronco Gal, Jersey Girl, and the Queen of Hearts. (Shutterbug is not in the pic.)
The above pic I took at Perkin’s Restaurant while eating breakfast on the morning of New Year’s Eve day.
I just admired the stiff white caps of the Amish (or Mennonite, I didn’t want to pry) lady and her two daughters. They were so polite and well behaved.
The Captain was in Chicago in a hotel room on New Year’s Eve and Jesse James, Kitty Kitty and I were holding down the fort as we say.
I had our customary drink at the ready for the Captain’s “Happy New Year” phone call at midnight and if you would like to know why we celebrate with an Orange Crush, please click on the post ….Orange Crush and New Years Eve 🙂
The Captain had our customary drink ready and waiting in his hotel room also.
I hope you had a safe and Happy New Year Celebration!
2015!!!! Wow!
Enjoy New Year’s Day….I will be watching sports…but what else is new? 😉

Great pictures. Do you use your phone or do you have a more elaborate camera. BTW the light I found isn’t like your bliss lights but I’m going to try one to see how I like it.
Happy New Year, one more time.
Kari says
I have a nice camera…but sometimes I have to use my phone if I see a photo op and all my photo gear is at home.
If I plan ahead, I am ok.:)
Let me know how you like the light you bought.
Happy New Year to you and Jay.
Thanks for stopping by.

Your pictures are just great. Seeing your house reminded me of how much I liked your Bliss lights. You guys stay up for midnight on New Year’s? More endurance than I!
Kari says
We sometimes “doze” until midnight…however, last night we were talking on the phone off and on…..The Captain celebrated New Years on my time zone….and then he went to bed in the central time zone. 🙂
Happy New Year to you and Dick.
Thanks for stopping by Donna.
