Good Morning….and I hope you all had a wonderful week-end.
The Captain and I took in a couple movies, went to church, did some outdoor work…ie; weeding, spraying and palm frond removals, but mostly relaxed in and near the pool, so basically a nice week-end except for a few computer glitches with my unintentional switch-over to Windows 10! Ugh!
I really did not want to install Windows 10 and I am still not sure how it happened!
AND….I can’t find anything.
My photos are not where they are supposed to be and….
my documents appear to be gone….and
you know what? I am not going to bore you with computer issues this fine beautiful Monday.
Instead, I want to share a way to laugh at Windows 10.
A few days ago, I received a humorous email from a dear friend that I want to share with you.
I found this “joke” very timely considering my issues with Windows 10, altho this email to tech support is from a newly-married woman calling herself “desperate”.
I have to confess that I added a few “programs” of my own to this email and I am going to pass it on to you.
I hope it makes you smile, and even though it is meant as humor….I am sure we can all relate!
And following this joke email….I want to share with you a Magnolia tablescape.
Do you remember the movie Steal Magnolias? I loved that movie and since it was filmed in the South and magnolias grow in the south and well, I guess one does not have to have an excuse to talk about magnolias.
Magnolias are beautiful in Florida and I find myself drawn to white flowers. I have a beautiful gardenia tree at my front door and the fragrance is amazing. The smell just drifts over my courtyard walls and onto my lanai. Heavenly!
Yep! White Gardenias, White Orchids and White Carnations.
…..(Or should that be a white sports coat and pink carnations?…Oh, no…that is lyrics from a song of the 60’s, isn’t it?)
But I digress…..below is the joke.

Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slowdown in overall system
performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal
Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as: NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.
When I installed Honey-Do 2.5, a pop-up Procrastination 6.2 did an over-ride.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and House cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate

The response:

Dear Desperate,
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: I thought you loved me.html and try to download Tears 6.2. Do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry
2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5,
Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta version.
Unfortunately, once the Procrastination 6.2 program is established, it becomes a permanent part of your hard drive. There is no uninstall button.
Whatever you do, DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Mother-In-Law 1.0 as it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.
In addition, please do not attempt to re-install the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and
will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.
You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0.
Good Luck

Did you smile during that joke?
Great! Let’s do a complete 180, or is it 360? I was never really good at math…so let’s talk tablescapes.
The magnolia dinnerware, I have had for almost 20 years, so I shopped around the house for a center piece and found a white lantern with a whimsical polka dot candle.
I really like to use the unexpected sometimes.
I teamed the dinnerware with green flatware that I have also had for many years. I don’t remember where I bought them. The clear glass handles pick up on the green in the plates and stemware.
And speaking of stemware, these are Libby glasses from Wal-Mart many years ago.
The white chargers are scalloped like a petal on a flower which I feel ties in with the magnolia theme. I bought the chargers at Hobby Lobby several years ago.
I did something else just a bit different.
I couldn’t decide which color of napkin to use. Forest green or the gray-green napkins.
The gray-green napkins pick up on the leaves on the dinnerware….while the forest green picks up on the rim of the plates and bowls.
So I used them both. It is okay to mix and match and I rather like the look.
OK, back to dealing with Windows 10!
I know,…I am a glutton for punishment. 🙂
Have a great and glorious day.

Hi Kari,
I enjoyed the joke and got a good laugh from it.
As far as Windows 10 you can get used to it eventually, but I’ll always miss Windows 9. However, I dread the day they come up with Windows 11, and by then I may be off the computer forever. LOL
Kari says
thanks for the encouraging words and hope for Windows 10. Right now it has me taking so much time looking for folders, files and pics. Ugh
thanks for stopping by Sandy.
Hugs always

Any time, Kari! My hubby convinced me that Windows 10 wouldn’t be so bad once I got used to it, but it took a lot of time.
