Trick Or Treat And Finding Treasures where you least expect it.
I have found a few new treats that are so cool and I would like to share them with you.
I have to tell you that I almost never go to Aldi’s grocery store…one reason is there is not one within 30 miles and the other is that I had a bad experience at one of them in Missouri quite a few years ago, but we will not go into that today.
However, I have a friend, Miss Lolly who loves the reasonably priced grocery store and so we made a trip to Port Charlotte to have lunch at Red Lobster, visit a pottery shop and as Miss Lolly said…as long as we are here, “let’s go to Aldi”!
So I found myself pushing a shopping cart through the small isles of the Aldi.
I wasn’t planning on buying anything, I had the cart more for holding my purse and holding me up, since we had just come from walking around the huge pottery yard!
I am telling you my friends, this pottery yard is the size of several football fields and Miss Lolly insisted on stopping at every single vignette of colored pots. We stopped at the cobalt blues, the antique reds, the stacked fountains, the small fountains and all the little salamanders and turtles and frogs. Whew!
But I digress….
We were talking the Aldi grocery store.
As I leaned pushed the shopping cart down the aisle of the Halloween candy department, I knew Miss Lolly was doing her grocery shopping on the other side of the store.
I could leisurely look for Halloween candy to hand out for trick or treat.
AND then my eyes focused in on the cutest package of “Bats&Webs”……
How unique were these potato snacks?
Of course I wouldn’t know how they tasted, but I thought they were cute and unusual.
And I said so to everyone who passed by me in the candy aisle.
You would have thought I had found a hidden treasure.
I blurted out excitedly to a lady in a passing shopping cart…
….“aren’t these cute”?
And to another….
….“have you seen these before?”
Ok, I probably did get just a bit too excited over a package of potato snacks.
But I was in Aldi and I was a bit tired so to say I was surprised was an understatement.
Who knew?
And then I spied something more familiar….popcorn balls.
They were similar to the individually wrapped popcorn balls that I have sometimes handed out for trick or treat.
So I grabbed a couple packages of them, one for our home and one for our church’s trunk or treats Harvest Festival, which is a trick or treat in the church parking lot.
What do you hand out at for trick or treat on Halloween?
Only daughter said she was going to give out small candy bars. Of course she picked all her favorites so she could have one or two if there were any left over.
I, on the other hand…usually picked candy I didn’t like… for the very same reason. 🙂
Have a great week-end!
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
