My dear readers…I am sure you know what the Blue Hour is.
Photographers really like and appreciate the Blue Hour for taking beautiful pictures…. but just in case you don’t know of it…let’s look at Wikopedia’s definition:
The blue hour (from La hora azul, in Spanish, or L’Heure Bleue in French) is the period of twilight early in the dawn each morning and late dusk each evening when the sun is at a significant distance below the horizon and the residual, indirect sunlight takes on a predominantly blue hue.
OK…so we have determined it is the twilight of the day….and it only lasts about 40 minutes, depending on your location.
By the way, you can find what time the Blue Hour occurs in your neck of the woods by clicking here .
Oh, and of course it changes daily. The site is called simply “bluehoursite.com”.
You may say you don’t need someone to tell you what time it occurs in your location, but guess what? The Blue Hour is usually is not seen by the naked eye.
What????
Yep!
One can definitely see the difference in the sky at that time of day, but it is not until you actually take a picture and look through your lens at said picture…… that you can really see and appreciate the beautiful blue that dominates the sky.
Magic!
The camera’s eye is so much keener than the human eye, and you will notice the difference in the photos below.
During that small time frame of twilight,…
one can see various shades of blue, some lighter…
some darker…..
But once you get that simply gorgeous color of blue in your photo,
let’s just say, you will want to always take pictures in the blue hour just to see how it transforms everything around you.
You know me and my romantic side, it is like….
…….Magic! !!!
Hence, the Blue Hour.
Just thought you would like to know….
…..inquiring minds, you see.
Have you taken pictures in the Blue Hour?
I would love to hear and see of your experiences with this incredible time of day.
Early morning or early evening. I believe my favorite is early evening although they are both beautiful times of day.
Thank you God for another of your special blessings!
Have a great day and Hugs Always!
