Don’t fret about making fancy Halloween treats.
I have a few “quick” Halloween treats that I have made year after year and no one tires of them.
Very simple and with things you already have on hand.
And you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy them.
- First up is a hot chocolate ….use your favorite recipe, and decorate with marshmallows and chocolate chips. Most people love hot chocolate…I know the Captain and I both do….there is no special time of the year to have a steaming cup of hot chocolate. We like a rich, dark chocolate…but you may prefer a lighter milk chocolate. Your choice!
Place a chocolate chip at various angles for “weird eyes”
Yummy and spooky! ?
- Next, are witch hats! Take any chocolate cookie and use a pre-bought frosting in a tube to adhere the top of the hat to the base of the hat
The pointy hat is actually a Hershey’s kiss.
So simple..
- Another quickie is to make Witch’s Brooms.
Really that simple
Just a reminder to not eat too many of the “brooms” or you won’t have enough for the broom sticks! I don’t like repeating myself….NOT that I would ever do such a thing as eat all the mini cups!
- Buy or make your own cupcakes and decorate the top with Halloween picks!
With so many things to do, there is certainly nothing wrong with getting a little help from your supermarket.
Make it easy on yourself.
I keep all holiday “picks” so it is very easy to stick them in store bought cupcakes or your own home made cupcakes.
We have noticed a huge drop off in trick or treaters in our neighborhood.
It seems that in some places, door-to-door trick or treating has been replaced by celebrations at churches or shopping malls in an effort to protect these wee ones. I know our church has what is called trunk treating. Cars are parked in the church parking lot with their trunks open and full of treats and the little ones go car to car.
Do you my dear readers…. have many trick or treat-ers or do you have alternative Halloween fun…such as hay rides or corn mazes, etc?
Enjoy the holiday season, no matter how you celebrate!
ooo… or booooooo
I think the “treats” look lovely… one small twist would be to use “Twiglets” for the broom handles.. Not sure Twiglets have are available in the US, but they have a love them or hate them reaction to the Marmite/Vegemite/Yeast tangy taste.
I hope you and your lovely Captain are well. I wont have any little visitors this Halloween… but I’ll share the ideas with daughter in case she has more little ones visiting her..
thanks Ross…hope all is well with you my dear friend.
Hugs always
