My dear readers…I am so pumped up with the Fall and with all the treats that come with it and so I will get right to this short, sweet and Savory recipe.
I have a confession to make….
I love hot green tea!
I can’t help it.
It wakes me up. It makes me smile. It’s been through the rough times and the good times with me and so far, it has never let me down.
I love watching the steam rise from my tea cup first thing in the morning. I love when the smell drifts slowly through-out my kitchen and then….
….and then I take a breath and reach for that cup. I encircle the cup with my hands, warming them from the heat of the cup…
…….and then comes that first wonderful sip.
Ahhhhhhh! Soooooo enjoyable! Such pleasure!
And I feel the same way about coffee! There is nothing like the first smell of fresh ground coffee after grinding the beans or you can still get that same wonderful smell when opening a can of coffee.
Ahhhhhhh!
So, who doesn’t like a cup of hot tea or coffee in the early morning hours?
Only daughter that is who! She would rather have a can of Dr. Pepper.
Yikes!….yes, you read right. A cold soft drink.
I’m sorry, but when you pop the tab of a soda can….it just does nothing for me at 5:30 in the morning.
I mean it is almost un-American or sacrilege or…or…or something, isn’t it?
Don’t get me wrong.
I absolutely adore my daughter. She is my best friend, my confidant, my…well, you get the picture. BUT….she does have definite likes and dislikes that I question.
Her morning choice of beverage AND her Fall/Halloween/Autumn candy choices.
I speak specifically of candy corn!!!!!!
Who doesn’t like candy corn?
Only daughter for one. I don’t know where I went wrong in her upbringing! She just won’t drink coffee or eat this wonderful yellow, orange and white delicacy.
Normally, she and I are on the same page as far as food is concerned, right down to putting potato chips on a baloney sandwich and mashing the bread down flat. YUM=MY!!!!!!
But I digress….the candy corn is the subject here and I love candy corn. It is addictive….it is soooo good.
So for those of you who can’t get enough of candy corn, this 3 ingredient recipe is for you!
Candy corn, peanuts and M&M’s.
Now how easy is that?
Just dump them all together in a serving bowl and munch away.
I know, I know…genius!
But I can’t take all the credit…
Actually, I can’t take any of the credit because I saw the recipe in a magazine, and the sad part is I don’t remember which magazine.
The mind is a terrible thing to waste. 🙁
I would imagine if you wanted to add another ingredient, you could certainly do so.
I am sure you remember the original trail mix recipe that started out with wheat, rice and corn chex, a few pretzels and peanuts and then it has evolved into adding chocolate, cinnamon red hots and who knows what else.
The sky is the limit, just let your imagine flow with this version of a sort of candy corn trail mix.
Yummy!
Only daughter…really you should try this. I am sure you will fall in love with candy corn eating this mixture.
And top it off with a cuppa hot tea or coffee! You know I Luv ya! 🙂
Blessings to all this wonderful Fall Day!
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
