Uncle Sam!
Folks, the Uncle Sam I am referring to is literally kinda old.
I know, the other one is old too. LOL
You see, I have had this newspaper stuffed gentleman for more years that I care to remember.
I have had to replace his “stuffing” from time to time, but I still like to place him in a vignette or tablescape, every few years.
He is my Uncle Sam after all….;)
For this tablescape, I started with a remnant piece of stars and sparklers cloth that I have also had for years….and used it as a table runner.
Next, I added red oblong place mats… that I don’t even remember where or when I purchased them.
However, I did find these cute melamine bicycle plates at Pier 1 last year.
I bought them at the same time I bought the cute little matching bicycle napkin rings, that I placed over two napkins, a blue and a white.
You can see the bicycle napkin rings here in this Memorial Day post….in case you missed it.
I was so busy trying to “fluff” up Uncle Sam, that I forgot to put a white dinner plate under the blue bicycle plates.
Oh well….I took the pictures anyway, because it was starting to cloud up outside and I needed the light for photography.
Sigh!
On one end of the table, I got the bright idea to use “bubbles” in a galvanized tray to hold 3 more American Flags.
Dunno what the inspiration was….unless it was the bubbles were already stored in the galvanized tray, and I thought…
OhhhhhKaaaaay! Let’s go with it!
Sometimes, when you are shopping the house or storage areas…you just have to go with the flow.
As a child, I loved to blow bubbles and we usually received those tiny plastic blow rings… along with a bottle of bubbles at least once or twice each summer.
So there you go.
The center piece is made up using different sized red, white and blue lanterns, each with a candle.
The red lantern and the white lantern I have had for a very long time, but the dark navy blue lantern I bought from Pier 1 the same time I bought the bicycle plates.
The flatware I have had for years, and I have always liked the red, white and blue stars and stripes on the handles.
The navy blue water glasses and stemmed glasses are from the dollar store.
Don’t the bicycle plates remind you of the summer parades and all the decorated bicycles?
They were such fun especially in the small town I grew up in.
I hope you find a few ideas for your Patriotic Tablescape…search around your home, I am sure you can find some great ideas too.
Blessings Always.

Thanks Desiree ….I ended up doing this tablescape you commented on and the one for the blog hop which was called “Happy Birthday America”.
I am a sucker for Patriotic tablescapes, because now that I think about it…I did three of them this year for the red, white and blue.
