Celebrate Your Story (CYS) Link Party!
Good afternoon dear readers!
I love the red, white and blue and use any excuse to decorate with it.
Such as this Patriotic Picnic in the Grass last week.
I know, right?
I can hear John Phillip Sousa marching band playing “The Stars and Stripes Forever” and “You’re A Grand Old Flag” and “The Star Spangled Banner” !!!
How about a little something different today?
I have a small surprise and something new to talk about.
First off, I want to welcome Rebecca from The Zucchini Sisters for joining our CYS link party as a host!
Hey Rebecca!!!!
We, meaning Chloe, Benita, and myself are so excited to have Rebecca join our little trio and now we are a quad!!!
Be sure to give her a warm welcome please!
But…. that is not the surprise.
I included an addition to our usual 3 link choices, (plus our reader’s most clicked choice)…and this is not setting a precedent.
I just wanted to include this little surprise to our link party today.
You see, This “party link” was not actually linked up to our Celebrate Your Story Link Party, ….
…..So I took the liberty of adding it to my three favorites… only because I loved it so much.
So, if you can keep a secret, I am going to put this beautiful Patriotic Front Porch front and center today.
This blogger (and you all know who she is) did not post a link in our link party, for reasons that are self explanatory, so I am posting it for her.
Isn’t this front porch so nostalgic and beautiful?
It just reminded me of yesteryear and sitting on the front porch of my grandma’s house watching the parade of bicycles with playing cards clothes-pinned to their wheels …
…and little red wagons pulling dolls and puppies in a small town parade of sorts.
Great job with your Patriotic front porch, my dear friend.
And please forgive me for taking liberties with your post.
You see, I learned a long time ago that it was easier to ask for forgiveness, rather than permission. LOL
My dear readers,
Most of our link parties deal with recipes, home decor and DIY, but I found Grammy Dee from Grammys Grid ……and she is a story teller, much like myself.
My first pick…
You all know how I love to tell stories.
And when the title of her story was “The Pink Diary”….well, you know I love the color pink, so I was intrigued and I couldn’t resist.
To Grammy Dee: Thanks for this story….and I had an inkling of the way it would end. 😉
My Number Two choice from last week’s link-ups, was food!
Oh my goodness…don’t these pork chops look delicious?
This recipe is from Marilyn at Marilyn’s Treats!
To Marilyn: I love pork chops and this oven method seems so easy and it is certainly pleasing to the eye. I am trying this recipe tomorrow! Yummy!
Number three Link Party choice is a wreath.
I absolutely adore Debbee’s sailboat wreath from Debbee’s Buzz!
To Debbee: I told you when I first saw this wreath that I wanted to make one just like it and I went right out and found a little sailboat.
AND, being the friend that you are, you encouraged me and you cheered me on… to making one.
Alas, the little sailboat sits among the ribbons of nautical design, waiting for the procrastinator to get it made. ;(
Almost everyone clicked on this post in our Link Party!!!
The most clicked post from last week was Judith from Botanic Bleu.
Judith show us her relaxing summer porch with the most beautiful blue Nantucket hydrangeas!!!
To Judith: I am currently growing potted hydrangeas in my Florida ‘Secret Garden’ and so far so good, although mine are not loaded with blooms as are yours.
Here is hoping!
So there you have it my friends….thanks to all of you who joined our Celebrate Your Story (CYS) Link Party.
It is never easy picking and choosing who makes the cut as I love all of them.
Remember, we would love to have you link your favorite posts to our link party.

Kari, thanks for featuring my sailboat wreath today! Last year I encouraged, but now I’m pushing you to get ‘r done! With your crafting skills, you can knock it out in a few hours. Do it in front of the TV over a couple of nights like I often do. I’m anxiously awaiting to see your version!
