Salmon!
I do like salmon!
Some might call it coral….
I sometimes do!
I love salmon lipstick…perhaps it is because of my red hair.
and I like salmon used as an accent color….
The rose I received at dinner last night was salmon!
No, the Captain did not give me a rose, but the fancy-dancy restaurant we ate at with friends…always gifts the ladies with a rose.
Isn’t that sweet?
Of course if we read between the lines….
I am sure the beautiful rose is somehow incorporated into the food bill, because these were not the roses being sold on the street corner for $10.00 bucks a bunch. LOL
But the fact remains, the rose was beautiful and it was…yep! salmon!
I even like salmon skinny jeans, although this body hasn’t seen that size in years!
That was back when my hair was piled high on my head with Aqua Net hair spray and I wore fake eye lashes!
Yep! I confess…I carried that small, pink and white tube of eye lash adhesive in my purse, because I never knew when a corner might come loose!
Plus, it was a good thing that I could buy a new tube at almost any corner store, because sometimes the “glue” dried if the cap wasn’t on tight.
But let’s continue on with “salmon”!
I think salmon colored paint on an accent wall would be nice in a contemporary home or a teen’s room.
There are so many shades of salmon that one is sure to find the right shade.
I like the color salmon almost as much I love to eat salmon.
Recently, I bought a pink Himalayan salt plate like the one below at WS!
I like the salt plate because it adds delicate flavor to food, particularly fresh salmon…and well, because it was pretty….and pink, or salmon colored.
It is not only pretty for serving straight from the grill or oven…it serves a purpose.
Which leads me to a recipe I am going to give you for making salmon patties.
Do you like salmon patties?
I grew up on salmon patties and Mother made them from canned salmon, always with healthy fried potatoes and onions. LOL
And of course cream peas…
And sliced tomatoes, fresh from the garden in the summertime!
I know…you too?
Recently, I came across this recipe that calls for fresh salmon rather than canned salmon….
…..and you can make them in your air fryer.
I love my air fryer and use it quite often.
I started with an air fryer that looked like this (only white), but I liked the air fryer with a door as I think it is easier to remove food..
I’ve convinced myself that salmon patties, this recipe in particular, is really healthy my friends.
Of course ,if you add the bun…it just might be a tad more calories. LOL
See the recipe below.
Air Fryer Salmon Patties
2 six-eight ounce fillets of fresh salmon
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
1 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper
2 eggs lightly beaten
Pre-heat the air fryer to 400ºF.
Remove the skin from the salmon or ask your fish monger to remove it.
Chop the salmon either in a food processor or by hand.
In Medium bowl, add the bread crumbs, eggs, dill, salt and pepper to the chopped salmon.
Combine until thoroughly mixed together.
Divide the mixture into four equal patties, making a small indentation in the center of each patty for more even cooking.
Transfer the salmon patties to the air fryer basket and air-fry for 4 minutes.
Flip the patties over and air-fry for another 3 to 4 minutes, until nicely browned and firm to the touch.
Serve on soft brioche buns with your choice of topping, if desired.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The chopped dill really makes a difference in flavor so don’t leave it out of your recipe.
You can add lettuce, tomato, red onion, avocado, mayonnaise, ketch-up or mustard.
You can also fry these patties in a non stick skillet or with a little oil, if you don’t have an air fryer.
Let me know if you like this recipe or have a better one for salmon patties using fresh salmon.
AND….. I think there might be a pink and white tube of glue in one of my older purses in the back of my closet…..
Now if I just had those fake eye lashes…..
Hugs and Blessings Always

I love salmon and salmon patties – they are good for the body! I can wear a pinkish – apricot color, that goes well with my skin, but I can’t seem to find a top in this color. I’m growing something called a porcelain pink pumpkin in my garden and hope it’s a good mixture of pinks and peach – fingers crossed!
Talking about your eyelashes made me giggle 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Rachelle…..I hope you can find a salmon top soon….and I would love to see those pink pumpkins in your garden. Please share when they are developed please….Have a great week.

While I don’t like to eat salmon (except for salmon patties), it is one of my favorite colors. I can wear it easily, it goes with my skin coloring. I have never used the color on a wall but have used it in accents. It is so pretty! Love and hugs!

Thanks for stopping by my friend. I have to admit I love salmon patties best too. Hugs and love

Salmon is one of my favorite colors although I tend to refer to it as pinky orange because I absolutely do not like salmon 😝 I know its a super food, but I just can’t do it! I do LOVE the color though! Happy Sunday Kari!

Jenna I am seeing so many people who do not like salmon. Being from the midwest, I grew up on fried catfish and hush puppies…anything from a lake or river. ;( Have a great week.

I do love the color salmon or coral and used it often when I was still in business as an interior decorator! I love wearing the color also. Yes, I grew up on salmon patties and always loved them. Thank you for the fresh version dear friend!

Don’t know why I didn’t know you were an interior decorator ,although I should have known with all your talent as a decorator, Pam! I think wedding planners suggest salmon/coral or aqua for bridesmaids as those colors go with almost any thing. Thanks sweet friend. Have a great week.

I really don’t notice the smell Rita, but I always keep my air fryer in the combination butler’s pantry/laundry room. (I try to avoid counter clutter) And it seems there is always a load of laundry going in either the washer or dryer. LOL
I use my air fryer for french fries, hot wings and the usual appetizer things but it works just as well for different cuts of meat such as hamburgers, etc. Endless possibilities.

I love salmon – the food, and the color, from pale pinkish to bright coral! Like you, it complements my skin and hair color, and certainly is flattering in various degrees as paint color! I wholly embrace it! I still don’t have an air fryer, but recipes like these keep tempting me. How bad does it smell after air frying salmon? It’s the only thing I don’t like about cooking salmon!
