Cables, Cords, And Chargers And All Those Techie Things!
The other day, I showed you my office update and mentioned tangled cords.
I have found the perfect cable and cord control for the top of my desk, as well as a few more organizing items.
Come take a look at what I have found.
It is a central power supply station with all kinds of portals for my technical stuff, such as cell, IPad, Kindel, Fitbit, and Computer chargers, etc.
I found it on EBAY and it is similar to one I saw a couple years ago at Pottery Barn. I almost bought it at that time, but I was still at my kitchen desk and did not have room for it, although I liked it so much that I seriously thought of putting it under my desk on the floor…but after more thought, I realized that would be impractical.
So, I passed it by.
As I was putting my corner desk together, literally, because it is made up of IKEA separates…I thought about that little white power charger and after checking with PB, I soon realized that I needed a plan B.
EBAY!!!
Isn’t that a great place to shop for items that have been discontinued or for just about anything?
I found several similar power charger stations, in red and copper color, but none in white. And then on a hunch, I looked again a few days later and there were actually two up for bid.
I started bidding on one of them and was lucky to win the bid.
I really like the way it hides all the cords and cables and it also has a little drawer to put USB’s etc.
There is a small door in the back to place the power surge strip and then there are 4 holes that thread the cables to the front of the box. I actually have two cables going through a couple of the holes as there is enough room for both of them.
I also found an item on-line called Cable-ID, which works great as I am able to use a black marker to identify which cable is which coming out of my power charger.
No more trying to match up chargers to techie things. Now, I always find the right plug as the advertisement says.
The Captain hooked up my Printer and got it on-line again….I know I could have done it, but it is so much fun to have him do it for me. 🙂
This cute lazy Susan type pencil holder organizes my markers, pens, pencils and rulers.
Love it.
Finally, I want to share my buffalo check curtains which gives my office a home-spun look.
The walls had been repainted a pale green a couple years ago and I decided to leave the color as-is.
The plantation shutters were added after repainting, and I had placed white shear curtain panels between the window and the shutters for more privacy, and much needed light.
I removed the shears and added Buffalo Check Curtain panels that I ordered on-line from Country Curtains, to each side of the window.
The color says sage green and I wasn’t sure they would blend with the pale green walls, but after hanging them, they blend right in.
So there you have a few of the additions to my office work space…and once I find the right comfy chair, my office should be complete.
Now, I must get back to work….I have a Tropical Tablescape I am working on and all my available space and work tables here in the office are full of dishes and centerpieces.
Sigh…..
Have a great week-end!
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
