Have you ever done this silly thing…. almost makes me embarrassed to tell you about it.
I wish I could tell you it is the first time.
Unfortunately, it is not, perhaps you are much smarter than I!
Happy Monday!
But my dear friends and readers, I have had better Mondays!
I can’t believe I did this…I am in a dilemma!
Should I confess?
After all…who would know?
The Captain is flying…only Jesse James and I are in the house!
Can I trust Jesse? The answer to that is “only sometimes”….and that is another post! 🙂
Let’s face it, Lassie he is not!
This could be classified as TMI…Translation?: Too Much Information!
I can’t have been the only one to have ever done this silly thing.
Am I???? Well, you won’t know until I tell you so here goes.
Ok……
Time: early, early morning! zero dark thirty!
Place: My Shower
Event: Showering, Shampooing, Conditioning, Body Emulsioning
Parties relative to the scene: Body Wash, Shampoo, Conditioner and the culprit…..Amazing Grace firming body emulsion
Facts: Hot Water tap turned on in the Shower….victim enters shower stall!
“Ahhhhhh” is audible as the spray of extra warm water engulfs my being. Sore muscles relax as the hot steam and the steady stream of water penetrates and permeates! How wonderful! What a beautiful way to start a beautiful morning!
The only thing missing is the little blue birds, flying in and about…. singing and tweeting and handing me my toiletries. You know like in the Disney movies with Snow White or Cinderella?
In hind sight…..Oh, I wish I had been in a Disney movie!
One admission here….I do prefer a nice hot bath…which in my 20-20 rearview vision I should have done. However, this early Monday morning shower also involved a shampoo and that is more easily accomplished in a shower.
I stuck my head under the spray of water and proceeded to rinse off all the hair product that holds my “hair do” firmly in place.
Believe me when I say, not a hair moves! 🙂
We are talking really powerful hold hair spray here.
After several rinses….I reach for the shampoo and lather up…I mean really lather up my crowning glory!
I have lather everywhere…….and no, I don’t use Johnson’s no-tear baby shampoo, although I am seriously thinking of changing to that product!
I rinse and re-rinse and re-rinse trying to get all the shampoo out of my hair.
My eyes are closed tight.
Now here is another confession. I keep my eyes closed through shampoo-ing and conditioning!
Even if I am at the hair dresser, my eyes are closed.
If they are open, somehow they manage to attract any drops of water or shampoo…and it burns, so they remain closed until the towel is brought into the picture.
I don’t like water in my eyes and yes, if I am swimming underwater, (which is rare) my eyes are closed, until I surface.
Not so bad in your private swimming pool, but in the ocean….well, that is another story. Let’s suffice it to say I NEVER get my hair wet when swimming. I am probably the only person who can swim with their head completely above water.
But I digress….back to my shower this morning.
Finally, my eyes are starting to smart. Must of gotten a few drops of soap in my eyes!
Each time I try to open my squinty eyes, I feel a shot of burning sensation! I fumble around the shower shelf and feel the familiar “Pump” on my conditioner and so I put several large pumps in my hand and slap it on my hair.
My first thought is: “wow! my tresses are so soft!
My second thought is: “wow! this feels a bit slippery and maybe even a bit gooey!” My third thought is: “Wow! this doesn’t feel right!
I quickly reach for a towel and dab my closed eyes,…. silently pleading for vision again. After wetting and rinsing my eyes and drying them…yes, you can dry your eyes…but that is another story! 🙂
I glance at the shelf where my little boutique of products are stationed and I gasp!
Somehow, my firming body emulsion is sitting where my hair conditioner usually sits.
Yes, they are both large bottles with pumps! You can see by the picture below how one could get them mixed up even if both eyes were not impaired.
Don’t know if I will ever get all that gunk off my hair.
I am still shampooing, rinsing and re-rinsing……..
Do you ever get shampoo or conditioner in your eyes while shampoo-ing?
Please tell me I am not the only one.

Haha Kari, what a pickle. Hopefully all is right in the bathroom now and you have recovered.
If you don’t tell anyone I’ll share my catastrophe… I had to be rescued when I couldn’t get my round hairbrush out of my hair pre night out! Made emergency phone calls to family but it was about 60 minutes before the first of the cavalry arrived – Daughter hot off the train and then my niece! Daughter bought me a tangle tease brush to use pre styling as a preventative measure.
I guess the tales will live on longer than us eh!
Love and hugs xx
