“Help!!!”…said my front entry
“….how about a little tender loving care?”
Ok, my front entry doesn’t talk but if it did…it would be saying…in an ever so polite way…”spruce me up!”
This week has been so busy and it is going to get a lot busier because on Tuesday, the Captain and I are hosting our monthly Potluck for our church group.
We decided to take advantage of the wonderful weather and have it in the park near our home, but it still takes a lot of planning, so the front entry was really not on my priority list.
As many of you know, I have also been sorting and re-arranging my side of our garage and I came across two grapevine wreaths.
These grapevine wreaths have been hanging in the garage for like forever.
I had two bunches of red, white and blue carnations in my floral stash.
There were two empty urns ready to have something, anything…. done to/for them.
AND I had the two round bronze spheres I used in a Fall tablescape. You can see that here if you missed it the first time.
Granted, the spheres would have probably looked better had they been a red, white or blue…but when they are lit at night…one can not tell the color as the little lights flicker and give a glow to my front entry.
And it took me all of five minutes.
Honest!
Nothing is hot glued in…. I stuck the floral stems into the grapevine wreath at random places.
I also had a faux philodendron that I had to snip apart with my nippers and I used those for fill.
The hardest part was cleaning up the bits and pieces of grapevine after I had it assembled (they are old)…. because I did not put a newspaper or cloth down under my assembly.
And now I have a Memorial Day entry and I think it looks great.
Yay!
You can pick up these grapevine wreaths at any hobby shop, I think I got mine at Michaels ages ago.
And right now Michaels is having a sale on florals so you can pick up your favorites for a couple bucks.
Do you decorate for Memorial Day?
Share your ideas if you do and comment please as I love to hear from you…if only you simply say “Hi”
Hugs and Blessings.

Kari, I love this wreath with it’s bold colors! I would really like to feature it at my next Friday with Friends post on May 15th, and will of course link back to your blog.
If you are open to this, please let me know at my email Rachelle@myhubbardhome.com
Thanks

I love red, white and blue. This time each year I bring out those colors and of course our flag. I figure my decorations can stay for a long time. After all we have Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July and even Labor Day, but usually by then I’m ready for some Fall looks. I know. Florida doesn’t do Fall but we like to pretend.
Hugs and blessings back to you.

Nancy, I do the same thing but as you know our Florida sun can be unforgiving…we are always replacing our flag and bunting because of sun fade. 🙁 The Captain and I both feel a faded flag should be retired and a bright new one put up.
Hugs right back at you and thanks for stopping by.
