I’m not a prude but I don’t like watching R Rated movies…
And the Captain and I went to a movie over the week-end and it was a fun one to watch.
We went to see Mamma Mia, Here We Go Again and I must say, I believe I liked it better than the first one, although I really liked the first one too.
It was fun to see the original characters playing their original parts,
The younger version of the guys are in the above photo….although the young Colin Firth character is in the third pic, while the young Pierce Brosnan character is first in the “younger” version above.
although I had to wonder why the hair do’s and styles had not changed for the characters as they flashed back to about 20 years before. 🙂
The actors who played the characters in their younger years nailed it.
And there was the music.
The Captain said he preferred the original movie because of the many ABBA songs, which there were still some in the prequel/sequel but there were also more tunes written specifically for the characters.
As far as Cher goes…she was only in the last 10 minutes and as far as I was concerned, she could have skipped the movie entirely.
Don’t get me wrong, I like Cher, but the age difference between her and Meryl Streep is only about 4 years, and I also have to believe she has had some cosmetic work done.
She actually looked younger than her daughter (Streep) in the movie.
I would recommend you go see the movie if you want to laugh and cry…. and sing along with the songs (in your head of course) as I would go see it again and there are not many movies these days that I would say that about.
Have a great day and stay cool.
It is hot, HOT, hot.
Blessings,

thanks Jenna…I have to agree that I think her “day” has gone, if you know what I mean.

Kari, we saw Mamma Mia on Sunday and loved it. I laughed and cried. I sang along (mouthed the words). The audience clapped at the end. Just happy and delightful, if a little contrive at times. It was great to meet you at Haven.

I know Carol…we clapped at the end too…such a good clean cut movie. thanks for stopping by.

Can’t WAIT to see this movie, preferably with my sisters and/or daughters! We all have very special connections to the first movie…..daughters getting married, daughter moving away, and even a retirement party (Dancing Queen). So fun! Thanks for the commentary. And now the younger people make sense. Wasn’t sure what all that was about, especially since Amanda Seyfried was in this one too. I agree with your assessment of Cher, and I haven’t even seen it, lol.

A definite must see Rita….you will enjoy it I’m sure. thanks for stopping by. 😉
