My dear friends….I have found a new gadget, ….something I can’t live without, well, sorta.
It isn’t as if I can’t live without it, if I am being truly honest here, I have lived without it for years and gotten by just fine, thank you very much.
But if I had my druthers, this little gadget hits on all cylinders.
What is it you say?
It is called a Pig Tail Food Flipper.
Say that three times fast! 🙂
Now, before you poo-poo me on yet another gizmo or gadget, don’t think I don’t remember the naysayers, when I posted about the fasta pasta maker which makes perfect pasta every time as seen on Rachael Ray and works in the micro-wave to give you just the right amount of perfectly cooked pasta. LOL
Whew!
Yep! hey, guys it still works and I use it all the time.
You can see how it works by clicking on my previous post here.
But I digress.
This new gadget I found on Amazon is perfect for turning or lifting meats.
Just sayin’
You see it can flip, turn, carry food in a flash.
Great for grilling and making perfect pancakes, and leaves meat unblemished and juicy inside.
Ok, I took that bit of info directly from the package of the pig tail food flipper.
But it really does work.
See that little red pig tail?
It replaces your tongs, forks and spatulas.
Really it does!
And because I am such a nice person, I am going to throw in another neat item I found on Amazon.
Don’t ya just love shopping on-line?
You see, I don’t usually keep buttermilk on hand in my fridge and if I do buy it for a recipe, I end up trying to use it for anything and everything…. to use it up before it spoils.
Now, I know how to take milk and add a little vinegar or lemon juice to make buttermilk for my thin cocoa cake recipe.
I have used that trick for over 50 years.
BUT, I found another product that is perfect for making buttermilk fried chicken or home made blue cheese salad dressing or just about any recipe that calls for buttermilk!
It is called Hoosier Hill Farm buttermilk powder.
All you need is a little bit of water and your hot wings are delicious.
And the shelf life is a year.
I just want to share with you what I have found to work and be useful.
Now to see both items in action, just look at the little red pig tail on the end of this hot wing I removed from my fryer.
huh? Huh? Pretty cool huh?
I love blue cheese salad dressing to dip my hot wings…and I love the dressing on my garden salads, so this is a win win situation.
Gotta go, as my hot wings are calling my name so have a great and blessed day and let me know if you have used either of these items and what your thoughts are.
Hugs Always

Kari, thanks for the info on these two gadgets. I could use both. I am like you in that I buy buttermilk for a recipe and then have no use for the rest of it, but hate to be wasteful. Have a great week!

Oh Kari, you are too, too funny! Looks like a handy gadget, but I feel I would be the one who couldn’t find it in my drawer if I needed it! With two households I am also always thinking I have something in Ohio, when in reality it is in Florida. The same goes with clothes, too. I will say if I find something I REALLY LIKE, be it clothes or gadgets or whatever, I buy two, one for each home!

I hear ya….I”m still looking for a paring knife that I really like and it could be in the RV, storage or here…Actually, I’ve looked in all three places and it is nowhere to be found. However, one day it will turn up I am sure…. thanks for stopping by. Hugs my friend.

Okay, that’s very cool, but I just couldn’t picture how it actually worked. So I googled a video, and by golly, it DOES work! I may have to buy one of those and give to my brother-in-law who always cooks for me and my sisters when we go over to Ohio for our vintage buying trips. Thanks! Both products are great endorsements!

Thanks Rita…lucky you have a brother-in-law who likes to cook for you girls. All my brother-in-law likes to do is tinker with old race cars! LOL
