Transitioning from Thanksgiving to Christmas Tablescape…
What? You say!
OK, Thanksgiving is over and now Christmas is on everyone’s mind as we decorate our trees and homes for the Christmas Holiday.
I recently took a liking to these velvet pumpkins that everyone has been using in their Fall/Autumn Decor.
But I didn’t want to pay those expensive prices, so I made my own!
It is really not that difficult as you buy the velvet material, cut it into a circle of your desired size, put pillow stuffing inside and sew it up, adding a pre-purchased stem on top.
It is really a good project for hand sewing and watching your favorite college basketball team win! Rock Chalk Jayhawk! (just sayin’)
I will post a step by step at a later post since we are sliding into the Winter Season and won’t need pumpkins until next year.
I started my tablescape with a white tablecloth, with a rectangle mirror as the centerpiece holder.
The 3 pink velvet pumpkins were added to the mirror along with a gold mercury glass candlestick pedestal.
The shiny gold chargers held pink dinner and salad plates that I have had for years and used in other tablescapes.
For flatware, my gold simple design settings work perfectly.
To a mirrored tray with gold trim, I added the water or wine decanter surrounded by gold glasses from Pier 1 many years ago.
The wine glasses are part of the set that matches the decanter but I placed the glasses at each table setting.
Pale pink napkins are at the side of each setting.
As part of the transitioning from Thanksgiving to Christmas, I placed a gold and silver large Christmas ornament cookie jar on one end of the table…..
…..and a small gold Christmas ornament room on a smaller pedestal stand inside the gold tray.
The Christmas ornament cookie jar is sitting atop a gold mirror tray turned upside down.
I felt the whole tablescape is very simple and yet very elegant, as the table becomes the transitioning focal point, easing us from Thanksgiving into Christmas Decor!
What are your thoughts, please comment?
Hugs and Blessings!

Love, love, love! I think adding gold to any seasonal decor steps it up a bit…even when you want something casual, gold works! So pretty!!

Thanks Nancy, I couldn’t believe how easy the pumpkins were to make. They aren’t perfect, but they work for me. I love the pink china too and I have had them so long I can’t remember where I got them and there is no label on the back. Thanks for stopping by my friend…
