Folks, we just returned from the Midwest where I literally froze my “you know what” off.
Remember , I told you we were going for the opening game for the Kansas City Royals Baseball Team?
First,….. NO, I did not enjoy the game because I was so cold.
Second, we did win the game after a lengthy rain delay, which made it even colder.
I think the temp was 44 degrees.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrr to cold and rainy days at the ball park.
I now remember why I don’t live in the Midwest anymore. LOL
It is like my oldest son said. …“Only in Kansas can one experience all four seasons in one day”
Yes, it actually snowed on our last day there.
However, the good news is the Captain and I got to see all our family, which is always a good thing.
So it was worth the cold and shivering when we got to be with family.
Ahhhh yes.
ANNOUNCEMENT/NEWS FIRST!
There is a bit of news or an announcement that I need to add to this post.
Chloe, Benita and I have decided to add a few more hosts to our Celebrate Your Story, so if anyone is interested in joining us, please let me know.
Link Party Features!
Now let us take a look at my favorite picks from last week’s link up party.
My first choice is from Andrea On Cloud Nine.
Those chocolate cupcakes each have a hidden surprise inside that is sure to warm your heart and soul.
To Andrea: For years I did not like Cadbury Eggs and then all of a sudden…bells rang, lights flashed and music came down from no where. Yummy
My second feature is from Nancy of Two Trails One Road.
Her tablescape featuring the Franciscan Desert Rose Pattern dinnerware made my heart go pitter-patter as it reminded me of my grandmother.
Grandma had these dishes and I believe she got them at a Jewelry store, Zales??? when she purchased a ring that she had been saving for.
You see, if she didn’t have the money, she did not buy it….and many things ( in her words), were foolishness, but she adored this pattern so it was a bonus as she got the ring and the dinnerware.
To Nancy: Thank you for the memories.
My third feature is from Marilyn at Marilyn ‘s treats.... and Marilyn shows us how to make baked spaghetti.
So easy to prepare and I have made a baked spaghetti and a crock pot spaghetti and they are delish.
To Marilyn: Great recipe! Now could you come over and make it for me? LOL
And the most clicked on featured link was from Debbee at Debbee’s Buzz!
It seems everyone wanted to visit ole’ Petter Rabbit and Farmer McGregor’s garden.
To Debbee: Thanks Debbee for another charming and whimsical tablescape.
So there you have it my friends….thanks to all of you who joined our Celebrate Your Story Link Party.
If you would like to be featured at our link party, it is so easy to do…just follow the directions below.
Please check out Chloe at Celebrate & Decorate and Benita at Chasing Quaintness for their three favorites from last week’s link party.

Kari, sorry about the weather during your trip. We skipped Pittsburgh’s opener because off the weather here. I was soooo excited to find my Beatrix Potter table and centerpiece the most clicked this week!!! An early Easter treat! Thanks for hosting, I know it’s time consuming.
Rita C. says
Kari, thanks for another week of celebrating. I can do most any weather, given the right clothes, but sitting in rain is not one of them. Honestly, with as busy as I’ve been packing, moving, I’ve hardly noticed winter, and the passage to spring. I sure want to enjoy spring though. Pushing to get to the finish line by end of April…..
And how about those Texas Tech Red Raiders???!!!
Kari says
So proud of the Red Raiders!!!! We are cheering them on…gotta keep the Big 12 alive and show that we do have good teams out here in the Midwest. I can’t believe how strong the Auburn Tigers are…they took us down, then NC and then Kentucky. They will be tough, but I think Texas Tech can be tougher after they get by Michigan State.
You are right about the cold rain…I don’t mind a summer rain but not a winter one. I am still feeling it in my bones.
Have you most of your furniture over to the new place or are you working on boxes etc.?? I’ll bet you feel like a minimalist after ridding yourself of so much “stuff”. I would be going back and retrieving most of what I got rid of. LOL
Thanks for stopping by, dear friend.
Debbie-Dabble says

Thanks for hosting, Kari! The game sounds miserable in the cold and rain, so sorry! Have a great week sweet friend!
Kari says
Pam there is nothing more miserable than being cold and chilling.
the Painted Apron says
thank you Kari! Yes, the KC can have some brutal weather! Ironically, the South can be the same way, Sat we were swimming in 75 degree weather and Sunday it was raining and 48! I loved Nancy’s bright tablescape too, my MIL had those dishes…yes memories!

Jenna, the weather is so unpredictable isn’t it. My daughter texted me and said it was 63, sunny and beautiful up there and I said…no April fools joke for me. LOL
