The calendar tells us it is time for another Patriotic Celebration.
And I love celebrating the red, white and blue.
I really love decorating the outside of our home, but this year, I can’t do that as the roofers are putting on a new roof after Hurricane Ian visited SW Florida last year.
It requires lots of patience as almost every home in the Cape is in need of repair.
I will say that I am seeing fewer blue tarped roofs these days so progress is being made!
So I will share a few of my previous decorating and hopefully you will get a few ideas to add to your decor if needed.
I like to decorate my courtyard and this small side cupboard was the perfect place to display a few of my Patriotic dishes.
I made the flag above the cupboard many years ago and it has remained in the courtyard on various walls.
Of course we have to have Uncle Sam standing proudly with the Flag.
This post features more of the red, white and blue.

One year, I set up a portable table in the front garden and made a picnic under the shade of a huge Shady Lady tree.
Sadly, …that tree is no longer shading the front of the house as it was a casualty of the hurricane.
You can see the post featuring this picnic here.
And one year, the Captain and I celebrated in the Secret Garden with yet another picnic.
This time I used our blue table and chairs and we ate among the flowers and plumeria tree.
I always loved the smell of those delicate waxy flowers that Hawaiians use to make Lei’s.
Notice I speak in the past tense as that tree was destroyed by the hurricane also.
The year I set up the above table was special because I had found bicycle napkin rings at Pier 1 to match the blue bicycle plates!
Oh how I miss that store. They had so many cute items and if I once went in…I knew I would always come out with decor of some kind.
Of course I still did on-line shopping with Pier 1….so it didn’t really matter if I went into the store or not, I would still manage to find something I couldn’t live without. LOL
If you missed that post…you can visit it here.
One of my favorite posts, (Happy Birthday America), was the above post because I had a copy of the Preamble.
I also used a very old fountain pen and candle holder to use as part of the decor.
You can see the whole table if you click here.
And finally there is this tablescape which I put together using my Liberty Blue Independence Hall dinnerware!
You can see the post here.
I love the Patriotic scenes on the plates.
These are just a few of my favorites and I hope you enjoy them too.
Happy 4th of July as we celebrate our Independence…and please be safe.

How sad to lose those trees, but it’s good news that you’re finally getting a roof! My neighbor bought a condo in FL this spring, and said it was impossible to get ins because so many companies are pulling out. The rest are too busy handling claims of existing homeowners with hurricane damage, and aren’t taking on new clients. She just took an umbrella policy on her existing home here.
Enjoy your weekend, Kari.

Sadly, it is true as the insurance companys are bailing out like Nancy said about her sister. I really feel for those who lost everything. Like I told Nancy…this just gives me another opportunity to plant something different…or to realize what managed to survive and keep on working with what works. LOL. You know “that which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.” (Steal Magnolias)
Have a great 4th and sorry about Huggins….😔

Glad you have a new roof. But so sorry about the trees. My sister had a nightmare getting her condo fixed. It needed gutted and the insurance company bailed on her and Florida!
Your patriotic tables and picnics are fabulous. Thanks so much for the roundup!
I am putting up my 4th of July pillows and flags today!

Happy 4th of July! Enjoy!

Work moves kind of slow down here but they are finally getting the jobs done. We are so grateful that we did not lose anything but landscaping…and Nancy, you and I know that this just gives us an excuse to have a do-over and plant something different. LOL Have great and safe 4th.

Kari, this post is so full of inspiration for July Fourth that I had to come back several times. Loved your pretty and yummy looking Happy Birthday America cake. It was fun to see Jesse James. Picnicking outdoors under Shady Lady must have been delightful. Unfortunately the bike table setting just opened up with a blank page. We too are flying and displaying our red, white, and blue.

thanks Jan…I’ll check on that link. How about our boys? Grady to the Toronto Raptors and Jalen to the Brooklyn Nets? Woo Hoo…and Bill went to NY for the draft to support them. CB was there too…. and Kansas well represented. RCJH thanks for stopping by. Hugs

Thanks for fixing the bike link. Those cute plates did remind me of when our children decorated their bikes for the neighborhood’s Fourth of July parades. Happy for Grady and Jalen. Guess we’ll be watching more NBA games this year. We rooted for the 76’s because of Embiid and of course were happy CB contributed to the Nuggets. Don’t know much about transfer Dickinson but with Harris, McCullar, and Adams back in the lineup, we’re hoping the Jayhawks have another great season.

I think I fixed that link.

Dear Kari,
Happy 4th of July to you and The Captain. Love your settings. We will put up our flag and that is it. I have had a headache for months now, so we aren’t doing much.
Love and hugs to you both.
Sandy and Ron

Happy 4th to you and Ron, Sandy…We have been praying for you guys…take care and be safe…us old folks have been there, done that and don’t need all the fal-da-rah and fiddle-de-dee do we? I would just as soon have a very quiet and peaceful holiday…no loud noises. Hugs and Blessing to you, our dear friends.
