I have a confession to make.
I set this tablescape up last year to celebrate the birthday of America.
I loved it so much that I wanted to show it again…in case you missed it the first time around.
If you saw it last year, just skip this one…but I loved that I used the Preamble as part of the tablescape and well…well….I LOVE IT!
My dear readers…this tablescape is my Happy Birthday America tablescape and I loved putting it together.
We are very Patriotic.
Navy family actually….and although I was never sitting personally with Betsy Ross as she sewed our flag…I would have been one of the volunteers, or at least I hope I would have been.
So with head held high, and flags waving, I am happily joining all those celebrating the red, white and blue !!!!
I started with a copy of our Preamble…We The People…how many of you out there had to memorize that document when in High School?
I did, but I only remember the first few lines today.
I added an ink pen and ink bottle along side a candle that I set in a pewter candle holder.
I liked the affect along with the galvanized coasters which have pictures in the bottom of the Statue of Liberty, the flag, the Liberty Bell and Paul Revere.
I found them at Cracker Barrel last year.
The chargers are red, white and blue and I set the “Spirit Of The Flag” dinner plate and bowl on top.
The napkins I found a long time ago in Hobby Lobby and I secured them with the cutest knife, fork and spoon that I found at Home Goods last year.
The red bubble glasses are called Ruby and are Artland Iris stemmed water glasses.
The flatware I have had for years, not sure where I found the blue stars and red and white striped handled flatware.
The tall centerpiece is another Patriotic piece that I bought years ago at Pier 1 and after I bought it, I became concerned on where and how to store such a big piece. haha!
Have you ever done that?
I also took blue hydrangeas and circled the bottom.
Just for a little floral effect.
On the back of each chair, I placed a royal blue towel with the red white and blue icons….just to set the mood.
On the other end of the table, is the birthday cake.
You can’t have a Happy Birthday America birthday party without a cake, can you???
I LOVE this cake as it is so moist with a cream cheese frosting and a few sprinkles patted along the bottom.
I put a few strawberries and blueberries on the top along with straws that resemble sparklers.
And the surprise is when you cut into the white cake!
Yup! It is definitely red, white and blue!
Yummy!
Happy Birthday America!
Blessings Always…

Great tablescape, Kari… and that CAKE!!!! Love the coasters, and the plates! Hugs!
Kari says
Thanks Julie…have you gotten a bit more into the red white and blue themes? LOL
I understand your thoughts.
It used to be that I could not wrap my arms around the color red alone…perhaps because of my red hair, but now I love red. I have all kinds of red appliances, etc until I got hold of myself and had a little heart to heart! No pun intended. LOL hugs my friend.

Kari, what a great table, from the preamble vignette (love the old ink bottle and pen with it) to the cake for dessert (it’s beautiful!) and everything in between! Oh yes, I certainly challenge myself when buying something that can’t readily be stored! Dishes can be stacked, but those centerpieces can get crushed in a minute! That’s one reason why I love metals (just throw them in a tub) or dishes (stack, stack, stack, lol), and linens (stuff, stuff, stuff in those drawers!).
I missed my blog hop buddies this go round. My red, white & blue stash is small, and I didn’t want to buy new things just for the occasion. But I do love seeing all the patriotic creativity. Cheers to freedom!
