Try out this recipe…you can double the recipe ….or triple…or whatever you want to do but if you once try these dinner rolls….you will love them.
Be sure to use self rising flour, folks. I have corrected the recipe.

I’m looking for the recipe of the rolls in the picture which are clearly yeast rolls. The mayo rolls sound interesting but I think the final product will look more like a drop biscuit. Do you have the recipe for the rolls which are in the pic with this Mayo recipe?

My cousin just made some, and I thought they were yeast rolls, until I googled the simple recipe she sent me. I cannot figure out how to post a picture of them……but they do look just like a dinner roll. In researching what she made, most did look like dropped biscuits. Maybe they/she rolled them into balls? I am waiting for her to answer me…..Heck, I have been baking breads of all kinds for a very long time and never run across these. I am going to give them a try this very weekend! Don’t be so quick to call someone out until you have actually discussed the why’s and wherefores. I just heard back from her. She said yes, she did roll them into balls, put them in a sprayed muffin pan and let them rise for about an hour. She said the real rising did not begin until she put them in the oven. Oh, and she did NOT use baking powder. I really wish I could figure out a way to send you a picture of her rolls. I am excited to make these

I used all purpose flour with the baking soda and salt. They were delicious!

All i have is all purpose flour. Would that work and do you need to sift anything?
Diane says
So salty. Maybe you shoud edit your recipe since that seems to be a common complaint

Check to make sure your baking powder doesn’t have aluminum in it. After much research I finally came across this answer when my homemade biscuits tasted sooo salty.

I tried this recipe and loved it. I was afraid they might be too salty but I sprinkled a tiny bit of sugar over my dough and used 1% milk mixed with a little evaporated milk. They were so light and fluffy. I will be making these quite often. Thank you for this recipe.

So use self rising flour AND baking powder?
Carrie says
Is this plain or self rising flour?
Kari says
good catch Carrie….the recipe should have said self rising flour. I have since corrected the recipe.

Mine didn’t rise like your picture…and too salty
Kari says
so sorry Hope, not sure why yours didn’t rise. If too salty, cut back on thee salt. Since you are only making 5, it won’t be too much of a loss. 🙁
