Promising Tomatoes are appearing daily in my little Herb Garden.
In an earlier post, I showed you the beginning of my cherry tomato, dill and parsley AeroGarden. (See link below for that post)
In fact the little cherry tomato plant is screaming at me to transplant it out into the garden….even though one is supposed to be able to harvest right from the lighted AeroGarden.
…..and my dill is drooping! 🙂
The other evening when the Captain and I entertained our friends with an early Cinco de Mayo….(Mexican Taco Salad), we discussed my little AeroGarden.
“Bud” suggested planting the cherry tomato plant in a container rather than directly in the garden.
Check out the photo below. You will see “Puss-in-boots”, (long story with her special name) …the Captain (he was laughing at something I said and has his eyes closed) and “Bud” is in the hat.
Soooo the project for today is to transplant the little bugger outside and hope that the HOT Florida sun does not bake it.
Who knows, I could have Fried Green Tomatoes without even using a skillet. 😉
Certainly, my little outside herb basket is doing very well in a container.
Bud’s advice comes from his many experiences of Florida growing and is relatively simple.
Water the container twice a day, every day. (and don’t forget to fertilize once a month)
As soon as it stops raining, I will go outside and replant my tomato plant and my dill plant in the larger pots that I have already prepared.
As soon as it stops raining.
I don’t want to get wet.
I might just melt!
I am from Kansas after all.
Remember “The Wizard of Oz” scene where the water was thrown on the wicked witch of the east and she cried…”I’m melting! I’m melting!”
One can’t be tooooo careful! 😉
Yes, that is my weird sense of humor!
Do you my dear readers, plant veggies in a garden?
Have a great and Blessed day!
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
