I love having a Fall Table Vignette that is actually useful with a stack of plates and flatware to be used for any meal.
Today I decided to make a Fall Table vignette for our kitchen nook table and leave it set up for a few weeks so I don’t have to “set” the table for each meal.
Lazy?
Perhaps. LOL
One of my favorite ways to decorate my home is by creating vignettes, centerpieces and tablescapes!
I like “playing” with my dishes and if you love a particular tureen or platter, why not pull them out of your cabinets and create a vignette for the season?
You can add a few pumpkins and perhaps a small vase with pretty mums and put together a centerpiece for your table or kitchen.
This round glass table is where the Captain and I eat many meals when the weather sends us indoors.
Otherwise we are eating on the lanai as I am wild about Al Fresco dining.
I found this pretty table runner at Big Lots a few days ago, on sale at 50 % off which made it $3.00…Everything else is from shopping my home and garage.
I started with a tray but you could also use a flat basket. I really like this white-washed tray because it is very large and can accommodate larger items.
I stacked plates and bowls at varying heights to give added interest. Cake pedestals are excellent for added height.
The above pic shows orange plates in one stack and the Autumn salad plates in yet another.
On top of the orange plate stack is a mercury pumpkin with a battery operated candle inside.
Because the tray is super-sized, I was able to add a large rustic lantern with a candle. With the days growing shorter, the magic of soft candle light make my kitchen nook cozy and romantic. sigh!
I used four leaf plates….. yellow, gold, red and green, placing a small boo pumpkin in the center and added a white pitcher of orange handled flatware.
Pine cones, acorns and leaves/stems of crab apples to tie it all together.
I do like to limit my color palette when choosing items for my centerpiece. In this case I used primarily orange with a bit of rust and brown/black. I took my cue from the inspiration for this centerpiece, my $3.00 table runner.
You can put together a Fall Table vignette with pieces you already have in your home. Just move them around room to room.
And we are praying for all those in the path of Hurricane Florence.
If you have a Pinterest board and would like to pin this centerpiece photo, please feel free to do so on my Fall/Autumn board.

U;m loving your vignette! I laughed when you said leave it for a few weeks. I do the same thing. I see other bloggers on Instagram change things up every day and I wonder how they do it or have the time!?! Your stack of leaf plates are so cute, did you get those at Pier 1? Thought I saw those the other day when I bought the lanterns. I might have to go back and buy some.

Thanks Christine, I bought the leaf plates several years ago at Williams Sonoma. I looked on the back of the leaf plates but all it says is Williams Sonoma made in Italy and dishwasher safe! LOL
I agree, I don’t have the time to change it up every day…I’m doing good if I make it before the season ends. 🙂
One blogger told me I should be posting every single day, adding to Pinterest, facebook, Twitter and Instagramstories…whew! I just can’t do that and have a life.LOL
I love Pier 1 and Home Goods…I should probably have an intervention.

Kari, what a gorgeous fall vignette set up for casual dining. I love the traditional orange that you used and the runner was a steal at $3. It was 97 yesterday, and we are in need of rain. Blessings and hugs!

I love finding bargains, unfortunately I also do an ‘impulse buy’ every now and then and they are not necessarily a bargain. 🙁 I hope you get your rain “bands” from ole Florence. Blessings

Love it, Kari. Still really hot here too, but Florence will change that next week once she crawls her way further north a bit.

Whew! I hear ya on the heat. I had company of friends and family come down this week and treking through Key West and other areas of SW Florida have been exhausting. BTW, Rita…we were down at Ft Myers Beach and the beaches are pretty good….some people I talked to had not heard of our red tide or algae (which appears to have cleaned up) and there were lots of swimmers although “they” say, tourism has dropped by 80 percent at some resorts and hotels. It was a good time to visit the shops and beaches there at Time Square. I really feel for the shops and restaurants because they have really taken a hit economically. Hugs my friend

This is my language Kari, I love to seet up vignettes like this so I can enjoy my tableware and decor! Love your pumpkins and fall things. BTW, I just saw a fishing racoon in the Pier 1 fall catalog, you need to add him to your collection, he’s adorable!!
