Wow! How is it already time for Thanksgiving…. and this is my first blog hop since my illness.
Well, to be honest, I have been out of the thick of things for a year and a half, but with God’s help, I am back among the active people.
However, I have to admit that I am not really “full on”, so I am taking the little tablescape from my ‘comeback announcement” last week (click here if you missed it) and modifying it a bit.
Is that cheating? I hope not.
For this Blog Hop…..
I left the black and white buffalo check table runner and chargers because I adore the scarecrows and how they tie in.
I changed out the napkins to orange and the center of the centerpiece from a cloche and candle to a mercury glass pumpkin.
…. I also changed the flatware and added the autumn leaves tumblers from dollar store from many moons ago.
AND candles…I just love the fragrances and these candles are Harrry Slatkin Candles, Autumn Collection!
Yummy! They smell so good.
I asked the Captain to “dig out” my favorite Fall dishes, Spode Woodland. (I have used these salad plates in several blog hops before.)
It feels so good to be back among my fellow, talented, tablescapers again….just like old home week.
There are so many ideas one can incorporate into a bee-u-ti-ful Thanksgiving table.
You don’t have to have lots of dishes or centerpieces…just add a little something to make your table feel special to your family.
We don’t know if our Thanksgiving will be a large family oriented as we once were…. before this horrible virus took over, but however big our gathering, we can make it feel special to our family.
There is so much to be thankful for these days. Let’s be sure to count our Blessings.
I read a very good devotional the other day.
It read in part….
“Counting our blessings is always being humble and giving thanks for everything in life. We are thankful for Jesus Christ who is everything. We are thankful for food, friends, family. God’s Love.”
Appreciate everything in life because there are people who are starving and many are in a way harder situation than we are.
Remember, our bad days are someone’s good days
Psalm 118:1
“Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is Good, for His steadfast love endures forever”
I know our family will certainly be counting our many Blessings for sure.
Thank you Chloe for organizing this Blog Hop and thank you for your special prayers for my recovery.

Love you all !!

It is so good to have you on the mend and back with us!!! Giving God all the praise for your recovery ♥ Those Spode plates are everything and how perfect for this season. I love your layering of the stack and the peek of the buffalo check charge showing through. I have the same flatware and it is very versatile. Have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving dear friend!

Oh Kari, I was so happy when I saw that you were joining us for the Thanksgiving hop! You’ve been missed! What wonderful news that your health has improved! And what a lovely Thanksgiving tablescape you’ve created. The MacKenzie Childs inspired table runner makes everything pop. I have a thing for brown transfer ware, so I’m crushing on your Spode Woodland plates! I love the brown, orange and metallic gold color scheme you chose. That was clever to use a cutting board to elevate the centerpiece. It’s a pleasure to be hopping with you again. Enjoy your Thanksgiving with the Captain!

I looked at your post very early yesterday morning before you tweaked a few things. I was so so glad you did a post and to see your name on the list was a thrill.
I admire how you have persevered and leaded on God for everything and how you are boldly giving Him the glory for your healing.
I agree with everyone above that your tweaks show great design skill.I love your black and white check runner and chargers. They do add great drama and make your centerpiece and Spode plates pop. The wooden chargers and flatware handles give warmth and speak fall.
I hope you had fun on this hop and it has not tired you out. Visiting everyone does take time and I had to stretch it out over two days.
Blessings to you and your husband this Thanksgiving. I think of you fondly, Kari. You have a beautiful spirit and glow with God’s love.

Kari, I am so happy that you are back to tablescaping with us! You have been deeply missed! I am thrilled that you are cancer free. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. Your strength and grace is truly an inspiration to us all. Your Thanksgiving table is both beautiful and festive and reminds me of MacKenzie Childs. May your November be filled with many blessings!

The Thanksgiving table looks beautiful! The Spode Woodland dishes are my favorite. I also love Harry Slatkin candles. You are definitely not cheating by making a few changes to another tablescape. That is what I will be doing for Thanksgiving. Sprucing up what I already have out with some special serving pieces, nice napkins and flatware and stemware. I like to keep it simple but nice for a special occasion.

Kari, what a thrill to see your name listed on the blog hop. Kudos to you my dear for fighting the fight and gracing us again with your beautiful heart and soul. Your captain is the sweetest for digging out your Spode dishes. I have the pheasant ones. The black and white checks made me smile, as I have a love for Mackenzie Child’s Courtly Check. Tweaking a former table is such a great idea. I think we all do the same thing. A little tweaking goes a long way. Blessings to you Kari.

Dear Kari, you are an inspiration in so many ways. I admit I’m not big into doing tablescapes, but I love looking at yours. Who knows, maybe I’ll find you have gotten under my skin and my first designed tablescape will be for Christmas 2020. I love your Halloween one and those candles are gorgeous. I can smell them from here ha ha. Thank God over and over for your recovery. God bless to you and the Captain.

Kari, you could’ve wadded up newspapers, leaves and trash and put on your table for all I care. I am so, so grateful God has graced you with improved health and graced us with your company once again! Your Captain continues to be your best and sweetest cheerleader to dig out your Spode plates to transition your earlier fall tablescape into a very Thanksgiving table. I love those plates, so classic. The candles on the table are so warm, and I’m also pleased you’re able to enjoy the fragrance of the season. Many, many blessings to you, my friend.

Kari, when I saw your name on the blog hop, I must admit a little tear trickled down my cheek. Your testimony and grace is a beautiful example of trust in the Lord.
Your tabletop changes from fall to Thanksgiving are perfect. This is such a good example for readers to see how you can tweak a little and have something totally different. Your table says a warm welcome to all who enter. You know I love Spode “woodland” for autumn tables or anytime. The black and white adds drama and is always a good look with any color.
It is wonderful to have you back. I am wishing you and the Captain a most blessed and beautiful season of Thanksgiving! Love and hugs…

Sure great to have you back Kari! I love your festive table and enjoyed seeing the transition of fall to Thanksgiving. Especially glad you kept the white/black elements as it makes for a more unique and dramatic table setting. Those wooden plate chargers and flatware also particularly special. And, of course I love the Spade plates. Have a happy and healthy holiday my friend.

Kari, I have tears in my eyes at your good news!
Nancy is right, God is good all the time!!!
Love your tweaks to the table and the spode dishes. I just recently was eyeing them online, since they would work with a transferware pattern that William Sonoma reproduced a while back.
Love the way you played with the different patterns to make them fit together.

Oh sweet Kari! I am thankful for you being here on my iPad!
Praise the Lord!
Beautiful tablescape my friend!

hi Kari! Let me first say what a pleasure it was to see your name on our blog hop list!! You ARE back!! You shared your journey with such grace and courage, and we all hold you in very high esteem! Your table is wonderful, and the fact that you tweaked a former tablescape is not cheating, it is the sign of a good designer, smoothly transitioning from one table or look to another. As I mentioned before, I have one of those little scarecrow figures, and he makes me smile every time I see him, they are such happy little creatures! I am a huge fan of black and white checks, they can go with anything and always create a great look! Love your plate stacks and beautiful plates and the pops of orange are wonderful and perfect for sunny Florida! Happy Thanksgiving Kari, I know you and your family have much to be thankful for this year especially…
