My dear friends, I have rounded up 4 St. Patrick’s Day tablescapes to share with you…. perhaps inspiration for your own table this year or down the road.
In 2018, my post of “Irish Santa Visits My St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape!” featured a Santa dressed in green.
He is sorta leaning on my centerpiece consisting of a top hat filled with green jelly beans.
and of course there were cookies…
And cupcakes…
And of course a green plate stack.
I love these green water goblets from Wal-Mart on-line. I’m not sure they have them as I bought them years ago.
This next tablescape was a favorite of mine in 2017 as I used a large bowl of Russet potatoes and white Irish pipes for a centerpiece.
So simple.
I topped it off with green ribbon with white shamrocks.
I titled it Happy St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape and Menu
I started this St Patrick’s tablescape with the Old Curiosity Shop dishes that are in an olive green.
They reminded me of an older English or Irish village.
There are matching salt and pepper shakers.
Each piece features a unique item of colonial days.
Potatoes for the Irish…now how good is that?
Included in my previous tablescapes …This next tablescape was in 2019 and featured a more whimsical table starting with a green plaid tablecloth and seagrass placemats.
It was a simple centerpiece using a sequined top hat filled with shamrocks and Irish button flowers.
The shamrock glasses came from dollar store and the beer steins were an on-line purchase.
I varied the interest by using square and round dishes in a lighter shade of green and white.
The flatware is a type of bakelite and I have them in many colors.
I love the white bunny with his pot of gold in his basket.
I tied a festive green plaid ribbon around his neck and placed him at one end of the table.
At the other end of the table is a red headed leprechaun dancing beneath his rainbow of shamrocks.
The green plaid linen napkins are encased by a rope napkin ring and match the tablecloth.
Finally, we move to another of my earlier tablescapes that I created about 8 years ago.
This tablescape was fun to put together in 2016 as I used real veggies and fruit.
Because there was so much action going on with the fresh green veggies, I chose all white dinnerware.
The centerpiece was an old wood Irish pub barrel that I stuffed with shamrocks and carnations.
On a tray at the base, I placed cabbages, artichokes, apples, Brussel Sprouts, tomatillos and strategically placed white daisies.
The plate stack sits on a veggie place mat purchased from Pier 1 (before they closed). The glass ware is a pretty green ordered on line.
The napkin ring is a cauliflower/cabbage looking flower and is placed in the cabbage soup bowl.
I also added a few pieces of my Majorca Bordallo Pinheiro Cabbage dinnerware and bakelite flatware.
I love bunnies and this cute little bunny is peeping out of a cabbage teapot that I have had for years.
The teapot sits on a cake stand featuring little bunny feet holding up the plate.
At the other end of the table a green fedora sits as if a guest dropped by for a sit down Irish dinner.
I hope you enjoyed a look back in time and at 4 St. Patrick’s Day tablescapes.
There are many more St. Patrick’s Day Tablescapes I can re-post but I thought 4 was enough for now. It is always fun to see them again and it is always like anything one revisits…there are a series of emotions. laughs, smiles, giggles and frowns.
Perhaps you have a favorite?
Remember to use what you have on hand…shop your home first and your table will be beautiful.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you and yours.
The Captain and I are having a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner after church, then we will be catching up on college basketball.
Blessings Always
Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, to you all ☘️💚☘️ Kari, I love your tables, they are fun and festive. You did a great job with all the green touches, my friend. I had been wondering who was the “Keeper of the Cloth”, obviously in good hands ☘️
Yes Pam…I have been the keeper of the cloth and now I will be passing it on to someone else for next year. You will see in my post Tuesday that I tried to include pics of past keepers. Thank you for your sweet comments. Hugs and Blessings.
Looking forward to Tuesday ☘️💚
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day From Ireland Kari and Tom. Wearing a bunch of Shamrock and visiting my mum’s grave was the limit of my celebrations. Mam’s birthday was on St. Patricks day so was always a double celebration.
Hey Mags…so happy to hear from you! What a way to celebrate her life! Just an FYI…I did respond to your email a few weeks ago…I’m hoping you got it. Thinking of you always and your beautiful Ireland….especially this day of the year. Say hi to Philip….Blessings always dear friend. 💚💚☘️🇮🇪🍀🧑🏻🎤
Kari, what a perfect time to use all the lovely shades of green. My favorites on your tables are the centerpieces-the assorted vegetables along with the green apples on a tray, the bowl of potatoes (must remember that for next year), and the filled jelly bean hat. Hope you had some help eating your edible arrangements. Also hoping that the Jayhawks will be healthy for the tournament.
Oh Jan I hope they are healthy too. we are watching the last few conferences finish up their tournaments…A lot of surprises. I was secretly hoping Iowa State would beat Houston. And they did. It is not that I don’t want them to do well in the dance…I just didn’t want them to get to be too big for their britches their first year in the Big 12. At least 9 teams from our conference so far??? Thanks for stopping by. 💚☘️💙💙💙💙💙💙
Love all your tablescapes Kari. They are so cheerful and fun. When I was younger, I loved to party on St. Patrick’s Day! Ron likes cabbage but not corn beef.
Love,
Sandy
I always try to make a large corned beef because we also love Reuben sandwiches on rye with kraut and thousand island dressing and swiss cheese. Yummy. Hugs my friend.
They are all so cute and fun Kari! I love the centerpiece you did with a bowl of potatoes, what a great idea! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️🥂☘️
Jenna
thanks Jenna…I like the potato bowl too. I grabbed a spray can and painted the pipes white. I still have them. I could be called a hoarder. 🧑🏻🎤🍀💚 LOL Happy St. Patrick’s Day
Fun tables, Kari! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Oh Rita I had to laugh at the “whimsy” tablescape with the funny leprechaun. I most likely would not use him today. LOL Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️🇮🇪🍺💚
