I am so excited to share this special post with you today!!
I am the 14th Keeper of the Traveling Shamrock Cloth and so thrilled to be a part of this tradition!!
Wait!
You might say…St. Patrick’s Day was two days ago!
And you would be correct.
You see, I had a choice of sharing this wonderful tradition at the blog hop in January or the blog hop in the middle of March… I chose March because it is closer to St. Patrick’s Day. I wanted as many as possible to see it because it IS a time honored tradition.
So If you don’t know of the origin of this Traveling Tablecloth, I shall enlighten you.
Grab a cuppa cuz this might take a bit. 🥰🧑🏻🎤☘️🍀🍺🔋💚🇮🇪

It started in 2010 with Marigene of Middle of Nowhere when she used this beautiful vintage table topper.
She passed it on to Kathleen of Kathleen Cuisine some time in 2011 with the stipulation that she use it and then pass it along to another tablescaper.
Kathleen used it in 2012 and then passed it to Rett of Gazebo house for 2013.

Mary from Home is Where the Boat, featured the cloth in 2014.

From Mary the cloth, along with a new companion that Mary added – the little leprechaun, traveled to Sarah from Hyacinths for the Soul in 2015.
Sarah then sent it to Kitty from Kitty’s Kozy Kitchen in 2016.
In 2017 the cloth and Leprechaun went to Debbie of Mountain Breaths and they both went on to Jenna of the Painted Apron in 2018.
Jenna passed the table topper and little leprechaun on to Pam from Everyday Living in 2019.
Pam used them both in her tablescape and then sent them both on to Rita from Panoply for 2020.

Then the cloth took a trip out to sunny California to see Linda at her Life and Linda blog in 2021.
Linda passed the shamrock cloth onto Debbee of Debbee’s Buzz where it made it’s 12th appearance!
From Debbee, the cloth went to Ann of Corner of Plaid and Paisley who then passed it on to me which makes me #14.
Thank you Ann.
The new mystery will be …where will this traveling tablecloth and little Leprechaun end up for 2025?

So for my tablescape, I am using my green depression glass that I collected many years ago.
It is called Green Cameo.

I have used it in other tablescapes but I don’t believe I have ever used it for St. Patrick’s Day.☘️
I used the traveling tablecloth on my wood table and decided I did not want a distraction from the cloth so it is the only covering.
I did not add chargers for the same reasoning.
The centerpiece is a wood lazy susan topped with my Belleek tea pot, tea cups, creamer and sugar.
If you look closely you will see the naughty little leprechaun sitting in the center.
He has accompanied the cloth to guard it, since Mary included him.

The place settings are the sectioned dinner plate, salad plate, berry bowl and sherbet.☘️

Their are two sizes of water/juice glasses if one’s desire to have something other than tea. 🔋🍺

I have also included serving pieces including a covered mayo comport.
These days we don’t usually take the time to put the mayo in a separate bowl.
A sectioned relish plate and candy jar are also on the table.

I have used the Irish lad and lassie holding green umbrellas in previous St. Patrick’s Day tables.
I think they are adorable with their chubby rosy cheeks. 💚

The green handled bakelite flatware usually comes out every March. 🧑🏻🎤
The salt and pepper shakers have metal lids that have seen better days. 🇮🇪

They have a few dents kinda like me. LOL I think the little leprechaun is laughing too.🍀

The pale green linen napkins have edges of crochet in a beautiful cream which seemed perfect for the tablecloth.💚

The little Lass appears to be guarding the spearmint jelly candies from impending rain. ☘️

So friends, I have guarded this beautiful tablecloth, pesky leprechaun and a few gold coins for the last year and now it is time to pass it on to someone else to set their St. Patrick’s Day table in 2025.
I would be remiss dear ones if I didn’t talk about luck, in relation to St. Patrick’s Day and everything green in the month of March.
We laugh and tease and talk about the luck of the Irish and pinch if one is not wearing green and we eat corned beef and cabbage.
And that is a good thing.
However, I am reminded of God’s Word.
We don’t need luck because as Christians, we have the maker and upholder of all things in the universe watching over us and living inside of us!
He knew us before we were born.
So you see, it’s not good fortune or serendipity.
Everything happens by the Will of God.
Jeremiah 29: 11-13
” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:11,12,13
Happy Belated St. Patrick’s Day Everyone.
Blessings Always,

please take a look at the talents of all the table stylists. How fun is that?

Thank you to Rita for all her hard work on this blog hop and you will note Rita was keeper of the cloth in 2020.

What a fun tradition Kari! And such a beautiful tablecloth. Your table, while St.Patricks’s day themed, fills me with the joy knowing everything will be green again soon! Your depression glass collection is quite impressive! I love the Belleek pottery is so pretty. I have always wanted to treat myself to a few pieces, but never have. Your pretty green napkins with the lace trim are a favourite! And the mischievous little leprechaun looks right at home at your table! Happy Spring!!
thank you Maureen for stopping by and for your kind comments. Have a warmer Easter and wonderful Spring.
What an amazing collection you have Kari! All your green glass is beautiful – and the Belleek! Completely gorgeous! Your lovely napkins and flatware are perfect. I love the tradition of the Keeper of the Cloth too, (reminds me a bit of our Traveling Teacup) and I love that you all signed the cloth. What a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful table – it’s always so fun to hop with you!
thanks Barbara…yes it is like the traveling teacup which I was also honored to have been a part of, thanks to you. What fun we have at these hops, it is always a pleasure to blog hop with you. Have a great and wonderful Spring and Easter, my friend.
What a delightful tradition to pass along a lovely shamrock cloth for talented stylists to create unique tables! I love how you used pale depression glass tableware almost as a chorus surrounding the star. Love, love the beautiful Belleek tea set! The lass and laddie are so charming. Happy St Paddy’s week!
Thank you so much Sandra for your kind comments and for stopping by. I just love playing with dishes…maybe I will stop when I grow up. LOL. Probably not. Happy Easter and Spring.
Oh Kari, how wonderful to be this year’s keep of the cloth and your table is a wonderful tribute to this tradition. It was so interesting to see the history. The depression glass is perfect – it is gorgeous and does a fabulous job of showcasing the cloth. The Belleek tea service is just lovely and I love your green flatware with those pretty lace-edged green napkins. Your table is beautiful and you did the cloth proud. It was so lovely hopping with you and wishing you a wonderful spring and a blessed Easter!
thanks Kim…it was fun keeping the secret for a full year and then setting the table. What a tradition to go on for over a decade. Thanks for your kind comments and for stopping by. Happy Easter and Spring.
Kari, what a fun surprise it was for me to get a sneak peak at you being the 2024 Keeper of the Cloth when you sent me your permalink! Fifteen years of wonderful travels, criss-crossing the country, and it makes me smile so big. Your Cameo depression and Belleek ware are such perfect friends to bring out and romp with the naughty leprechaun. I love that featured this tablescape among our spring hop, to give all those shared readers of ours a glimpse into the love and history of bloggers’ tablescaping. Happy spring!
thank you Rita for you kind comments and for your time as keeper of the cloth. Yes, I thought your blog hop was the perfect time to show it as so many will see it and see the time honored tradition that has managed to go on for over a decade. 🥰
We are watching the dance with mixed feelings as our players are still not healthy and we are not a deep team so we will most likely make it a short dance for us; more of a one and done in another way. 🥴 We are still cheering on the Big 12 teams and hope they go far. Of course there is always next year just as with the traveling shamrock tablecloth.
Have a wonderful Spring and Easter my friend.💜🌸🐇💕
What a neat idea to pass an Irish tablecloth on to others. You did a wonderful table setting, Kari. I have been to Ireland, and it is a lovely island with wonderful people. I agree with you, Kari, that everything happens by the will of God.
Hugs,
Sandy
thanks Sandy…and isn’t Ireland beautiful? It was such fun to work with the traveling cloth and now I have to send it to another blogger…and the tradition goes on. Have a Blessed day my friend.
Kari, Oh what fun to be the Keeper of the Cloth! ☘️ What a fun journey the cloth has had over the years. I love your table and gorgeous Belleek pieces. The green depression glass is so pretty and perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day table and your Irish lad and lassie with umbrellas are adorable. Beware of the leprechaun and the mischief he can cause before you have a chance to send him on his way to the next lucky recipient! As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Happy Spring! 💚🐰 🐇🐣🐥🌷💐
Thanks Mary…and you are right about that little leprechaun you included many years ago…I feel his eyes are always watching me. LOL Have a great and wonderful Spring and Easter.💜🐣🌸☘️🐇
Kari, as one who received the cloth early on, it delights my heart to see the tradition live on. You did it proud! I love the thoughtful way you allowed the cloth to star without distraction. Using glass plates is genius! I also loved your recap of all who have shared in this tradition. Marigene must be proud of this fun tabletop tradition started all those years ago as well as how the tradition faithfully lives on by enthusiastic tablescapers. I’ll be eager to see where it lands next year. Obviously just from this list of participants, we’ve many talented tablescapers. Thank you for sharing your special St. Patrick’s Day table. I’d say your timing is perfect.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Happy Spring, and Happy Easter!
What a wonderful tradition Sarah…and your part in it was lovely. ☘️ Yes, the traveling tablelcoth will move on to 2025….to infinity and beyond. LOL. Have a wonderful Easter 💜🐣🐇 and Spring.🌸🎀🦋
Such a fun tradition…the keeper of the cloth. I may have to start that with my family. Wow your collection of St. Patrick’s goodies is amazing! The little Leprachans are so adorable. Love all of the details…you have got me thinking of ideas for next year!
Karin

Oh Kari, I’m so excited you are the Keeper of the Cloth this year! It’s such a fun tradition and your table is fantastic! I love your centerpiece with the Belleek tea set on the lazy Susan, and the lad and lassie with their umbrellas are adorable! I love the way you let the cloth be the star of the show~ Have fun passing it along! ☘️☘️☘️
Jenna
Thanks Jenna and enjoy your trip to the beach. Safe travels my friend. 💜🌸🦋
Kari, your parting words about luck and scripture are beautiful. How special it is to get to be the keeper of the cloth. I agree with Ann… you have done the tradition proud and created the most gorgeous tablescape with it. You have such a lovely collection of green depression glass. I adore depression glass and have several pieces that belonged to my great grandmother. I am swooning over the shamrock tea set. It is so pretty. It is always such a treat to join you on these hops. Wishing you a blessed and happy spring!
Thank you Shannon for stopping by. These hops are always such fun to prepare for and participate in, aren’t they? Such inspiration. Have a great and Blessed day. Our God is amazing!
Aww Kari, what a sweet surprise, you are the Keeper of the Traveling shamrock cloth. it was a pleasure for me to treasure it in 2021. Passing it on is so fun. I wonder who it will be in 2025. Your table is so pretty in green. The Belleek dishes are so wonderful. I don’t own any, however I love it. Love your green cameo depression dishes. So pretty and perfect to honor the Shamrock cloth. Thank you sharing the past Keeper of the Traveling cloth. Always a pleasure to hop along with you sweet friend. Happy spring.
Thanks Linda and it was such fun to have the cloth for a year and to be included in such a wonderful group of bloggers….yourself included. I need to find the stylist for 2025 and when everything calms down and Easter is over, I will work on that. Thanks for stopping by my friend. Happy Easter and Spring.💜🌸🐣
What a lovely tradition, Kari. St. Patrick’s Day is dear to my heart and all those who have a bit of the Irish in them. I love all the traditions that you included in your tablescape. Ireland is steeped in such wonderful tales and legends and they seem to still be current in the Irish people. So nice to hold those traditions in your heart and on your table.
Lynne
Thanks for stopping by Lynne…and even though St. Patrick’s Day is over, I am still enjoying the beautiful tablecloth so will most likely leave it set up for a week or two. Luckily, I have another dining area to eat from. LOL Happy Spring! 💜🐇🧚♂️🐰🐣🐞🦋🌸🥕💸🎀💜
Awww….I love this tradition! How much fun! I *almost* posted our St. Patrick’s Day tablescape in our breakfast room, but changed my mind. I also love how you’ve included all the other posts connected to the traveling shamrock tablecloth! I love your tablescape, and Belleek is a favorite of mine. I don’t own any pieces of it, but I’ve always admired it. You did a great job keeping the tradition going. Happy belated St. Patrick’s Day, and Happy Spring!
Ricki Jill it was so much fun knowing that I had the cloth and couldn’t tell anyone until the reveal. When I think of all the other “keepers of the cloth” and the stories this table covering could tell it makes me want to cry tears of joy. thanks for your kind comments. Hugs Happy Spring and Easter with your family. 💜🐇🧚♂️🐰🐣🐞🦋🌸🥕💸🎀💜
Kari, your take on the special Shamrock Cloth is so lovely. I have always been a fan of depression glass. When we were first married, depression glass was affordable and the green was always my favorite. It is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day and looks delightful on the storied cloth. The teapot, sugar, and creamer are charming. I don’t own a single piece of Belleek, I am wondering why! The little Irish lad and lassie are adorable holding their green umbrellas. Thank you for sharing all the Keepers of the Cloth in your post. It was an honor to have it way back in 2019. Thank you for sharing your faith and Amen, Kari! Blessings always, my friend
Pam it was such an honor to have this lovely cloth this past year and to keep silent until the day of revealing was quite a task. I wanted to shout to all of you previous “keepers” that I was so glad to be a part of this special group of ladies. And now it will move on to yet another and I hope it keeps going on until the Lord returns. Luv ya dear friend. Happy Easter to you and all your loved ones. 💜🐇🐰🐣🦋🌸🥕💜
Kari, what a fun tradition! Your table setting featuring the Traveling shamrock cloth is lovely and what pretty depression glass! Blessings, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
thank you Cecilia for stopping by and for your kind comments. Happy Easter 💜🐇🧚♂️🐰🐣🐞🦋🌸🥕💸🎀💜
Just love your reminder about luck and who we are as Christ followers. ☘️ Beautiful table setting 💚
thank you Nannette…I feel it is necessary to make a stand and be clear. God brought me through Pancreatic Cancer…He is good and amazing. He is Risen!!! 💜🦋
It has always been fun throughout the years to watch this tablecloth roam around the US but this setting is one of my favorites! I adore all of your green dishes and shamrocks! Well done!
It has been such fun Patti being the keeper of the cloth. What a great honor and tradition to be a small part of. thanks for stopping by. 💕☘️
Kari, you have added another delightful way of displaying the Traveling Shamrock cloth using your green depression glass. Can’t believe you never used it before on a St. Patrick’s table. The crocheted edge napkins are so pretty. Thank you for adding all the past recipients. It was fun checking out their tables. I’ll have a spearmint leaf, please. Next to chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel, they’re my favorites.
Jan I have used different pieces in different settings but I don’t believe I set a complete table…altho I am getting a bit forgetful and when I posted 4 St. Patrick’s Day tablescapes, I had almost forgotten what I had used in 2016. LOL… thanks for stopping by my friend. (I am still snacking on those spearmint leaves…yum yum)
Kari, I am so happy to see the traveling cloth for another St. Patrick’s Day table!!! You have done the tradition proud with all of your beautiful green depression glass as the highlight of your wonderful table!! I love your green handled flatware!! Perfect for the occasion. It is so fun to see the history of the cloth and the many places and people who have kept this 🍀custom going!! I hope you have a lovely spring and a blessed Easter!💐
Ann thank you for including me in this annual tradition. I am so excited to pick a new keeper of the cloth which I will do very soon. Hang in there dear one…you are in my prayers. Happy Spring and Easter with your family. 💜🐇🧚♂️🐰🐣🐞🦋🌸🥕💸🎀💜
