Butterflies, Pandora and FitBit … and you are probably wondering what in the world is she talking about?
1. First, the beautiful butterfly I found hovering around the Pentas today! See the black and yellow butterfly in the top third of the pic?
Gosh, I just had a bit of Déjà vu with a flash back to the Primers in First Grade which taught us how to read! Stories of Fun with Dick and Jane… or Jack and Janet and Spot and Mother and Father! Remember “See Spot Run?” 😉
Sorry, I got a little carried away moseying down memory lane….(Is moseying even a word?) 🙂
Back to the butterfly in the Secret Garden.
As I have said in previous posts, I love to go to my Secret Garden in the early morning with a nice cup of hot tea and have my private time.
I read a Devotional Booklet…aptly named “Our Daily Bread” …and I prepare myself for the day, through prayer and reflection and just private thoughts.
I just wanted to share the beauty that surrounds us every day…with you, my friends! 😉
I just love Butterflies! This particular butterfly is called a Zebra Longwing and it is one of the many visitors to my Secret Garden.
FunFact: In 1996 the state legislature designated the zebra longwing as Florida’s official state butterfly.
2. Pandora is the Charm Bracelet that the Captain bought for me for Mother’s Day! I have always wanted a charm bracelet… with charms reflecting different parts of my life and this one is lovely. Currently the only charms on it are a cruise ship, KC Royals, Rome Coliseum and little heart with “Mom” on it.
The method to the Captain’s Madness is this way he doesn’t have to wonder what to buy me for Birthdays or Christmas. He will just add a charm.
I don’t know if that is a good thing (thoughtful) or a bad thing (un-imaginative), ….but I will take the positive route! 🙂
When I first opened the box, I quoted the teenager on the Jared commercial where she tells her siblings that “He… (DAD)… totally went to Jared’s”, as their parents hug over a gift of jewelry for Mom! The Captain laughed and said that he went directly to Pandora Jewelry…. eliminating the middle man! 🙂
3. FitBit! is the next explanation!
Have you heard of it? Perhaps it is just another way to get people to buy a gadget or perhaps it will actually be the challenger one needs to get a person (Me) on a healthy regimen.
It can be used as a wireless (rubber type) bracelet or it can be found in clip form and the purpose is tracking one’s health regime in steps, eating, sleeping, blood pressure, and many more things that I have yet to learn about.
I just purchased the bracelet with the built in tracker yesterday. So I need to “play” with it a bit to see the best way for my lifestyle…which is probably listed as sedentary! 🙁
The stats above are on-line, but it can be synced to your cell phone…which is what I did.
The idea is it should be a motivator….a way of keeping track of food you eat and exercise you do. There are other apps out there that do some of the same things but not all the things that appear to be on this one.
The lists of foods are amazing, and they are broken down in more than just caloric content!
The little computer in the bracelet is interchangeable with other color bracelets so if your choice is black rubber…you are good to go or if you would like a different color rubber bracelet…there are choices available.
The above shot is from my FitBit app on my cell phone…..I need to add some water to the chart, take a few more steps and start a food plan….
Tonight when I go to bed, I will program just how many hours I sleep, but I know right now ….that it will have plenty of trips to the bathroom! 🙂
I am glad there is no camera on this thing! 😉
And no, I am in no way affiliated with FitBit! 🙂
Will this little device help?
We shall see what we shall see….
I will keep you posted! 😉
Have a great Wednesday!

I sympathize with the bathroom trips, Kari. Me, too.
Yes, there is such a word as mosey. You can use saunter, too. Smile!
I loved the butterfly in your secret garden.
