Welcome to my Past Autumnal Tables For Fall Inspiration post.
I’m writing this post for those who admire a pretty table but don’t want to invest in a lot of seasonal dishes.
I have looked back at some of my past tables for the Autumn Season and would like to share a few of them as well as a few decorating ideas with you.
First of all, a pretty table does not require a service for 12 of all matching dinnerware.
Coming from Kansas, I like to use natural pieces such as sunflowers and pheasant feathers. On the above table the plate stack includes a Fall leaves placemat, rust dinner plate, a majorca salad plate and leaf shaped dessert bowl.
Orange handled flatware along with sunflowers and pumpkin salt and pepper shakers add to the centerpiece of sunflowers and nuts. I find that we all have a few specialized plates or bowls that we can pull out of our cabinets and use for almost any seasonal table.
Such as these little foxes, squirrels and raccoons made out of straw.
For some reason, these little woodland creatures inspire me to think of Fall inspiration!
This place setting includes a wood slice for a charger, embroidered napkins with Fall leaves and one of my favorite tablecloths. (You will see this cloth repeated in several of my Fall tables.) The plate stack features a harvest gold dinner plate, green majorca salad plate, autumnal leaf dessert plate with pumpkin dippers and a stemmed glass with autumn leaves painted on the sides. I especially like the green gourd tea pot and burlap leaves and small pumpkins scattered about the table.
More Fall inspiration comes to the forefront or in this case the table. Doesn’t hot apple cider scream Fall and the addition of a few acorns, cinnamon, sunflowers and straw pheasants complete the vignette.
Another vignette is easily put together with a straw purse and a few ears of corn, and pinecones along with milo and greenery.
This would be Fall inspiration at your entry.
I have to admit I am partial to my Spode Woodland dinnerware for Autumn. Each piece has a different fowl (or rabbit) displayed on a cream background of brown transferware. Adding a few autumn leaves, rattan charger, amber glasses and brown handled flatware complete the cozy table.
This tablescape featured a turkey for a centerpiece, brown placemats, orange napkins with orange handled flatware sitting along side a gold dinner plate, white embossed salad plate and gold dessert bowl. The little cocotte (mini casserole) is removed before eating and placed at the upper left of the place setting. The glittery gold water glass sits beside the stemmed glassware which has rust colored leaves on the sides of the tumbler.
What is Fall without a pumpkin pie decorated with leaf and nut shapes of pie dough. A few small pumpkins and of course more nuts sit atop a orange plaid cloth.
The above tablescape uses a bowl full of sunflowers, bittersweet vine, white pumpkins, and Fall candles. The plate stack is a wood slice, gold dinner plate, pumpkin shaped salad plate and Fall leaves glassware. Wood handle flatware and brown plaid tablecloth are a favorite.
This table is one of my favorite tablescapes using my gold flatware, rust dinner plate and pumpkin decorated salad plate. The green glassware along with the green and amber candle holders gave off a warm and cozy glow to the table. Place cards adorned the little white individual pots of single mum flowers. The napkin ring were clusters of fruit signifying the bounty of harvest.
The above table was one of my very first tablescapes back in Kansas City. I used black placemats and napkins, gold dinner plates and bread bowls full of soup. I made a limeade drink with a jelly “worm” and other treats like caramel apples, pumpkin shaped sugar cookies and placed them on orange trays. Dry ice in the black cauldron was a hit as it held the limeade drink pitcher. The guacamole dip and sour cream didn’t look to appetizing but it tasted great. 🥹. The centerpiece was a simple orange candle surrounded by little pumpkins and fruit.
This tablescape I used the Spode Woodland salad plate atop a wood dinner plate atop a black and white checkered charger and sat it all on a white placemat. The table runner is a harlequin pattern in black and white. I like to use bittersweet to be placed in and about the fruit centerpiece.
I am particularly fond of these two little scarecrows and use them frequently in Autumn vignettes or tablescapes.
Even though this tablescape has orange fruit on the table runner, I use it for Fall tablescapes too. I particularly like the sunflower in the center of the dinner plate. Actually there are two dinner plates on this stack…a harvest gold and the brown and gold rimmed sunflower plate. The orange handled flatware shows up in the Fall.
This vignette says it all…Grateful, Blessed and Thankful! I bought the same pumpkins in white back in 2014.
The above tablescape has all the Fall colors and depicts a camping motif. Makes me think of cool evenings by the campfire.
This vignette starts with a autumn leaf place mat and a rustic vase full of autumn leaves and flowers. The two pumpkins are actually place card holders but who says they can’t be just little pumpkins? 😄
And finally, this tablescape uses rustic and glam as the plate stack starts with natural water hyacinth weave 15 inch placemats, and gold rimmed dinner and salad plates.
The caramel plaid dinner napkin is encircled with a gold and light amber beaded napkin ring. The flatware has champagne colored handles and match the champagne stemmed goblets. The floral arrangement has dyed grain stalks with seeded pods in various colors of Fall. Of course the little white and orange pumpkins with grateful, blessed and thankful (that appear in above photos) are placed near the rust and caramel colored candles.
Thank you for viewing a few of my Past Autumnal Tables For Fall Inspiration.
Many of my friends say they don’t have all the special seasonal dishes to set a pretty table and I say to them;
Check around your home and I am sure you will find a few items that will make your seasonal table special.
It’s all in the eye of the beholder. 🥰
James 5:7-8: “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.”
Blessings Always

Good morning, Kari! This post makes my heart sing with all of the gorgeous fall inspiration. We have had a bit of a cool down and that has me excited for autumn’s arrival. I adore the opening tablescape with the rich fall color palette. Like you, I love mixing and matching my dishes. We are also
kindred spirits in our love of the Spode Woodland pattern. It is one of my favorites! Thanks for sharing all of the wonderful fall inspiration. I’m starting my decorating this week. Enjoy your day!

thanks Shannon, I love Fall but I also love the other seasons…I find joy in all of them and perhaps that is because I don’t have to worry about heavy snows in Florida. LOL Have a great Autumn.

Thanks Sandy…you have been so faithful to me since the beginning of my blog so many years ago and I want you to know, I appreciate you so much. I hope you and Ron are doing ok…I know there are so many health challenges we get as we get older. I wish I could be as young in health as I am in my mind as I never seem to grow old there. LOL. Blessings my friend. We love you both.

So many wonderful fall tables and vignettes Kari! I love your woodland creatures and acorns scattered about in many of them! I love the first plate stack with the rust, green and orange leaf bowl. Of course you can never have too many pumpkins! I need to get busy, I haven’t done any fall decorating except for my dining room table and I did hang a sunflower pumpkin on my front door yesterday. Thank you for inspiring me to get on it!

Kari, you have a stunning and vast array of dishware, linens, and lovelies! I must return and visit each table more carefully. It would not be possible for me to choose a favorite, but I am partial to the Spode ‘woodland’ and I also admire the plates with the sunflower in the middle.
Thank you for this beautiful round-up of autumn tables. I would love to sit at any of these stunning tables. Have you returned from your road trip?
Happy September, dear friend 🧡🌻

Hi Pam…sorry I missed your comments. Been pretty busy but thank you for stopping by. I love Spode woodland too and each time I use them they make me smile with their warm earthy tones and fowl. The weather up North appears to be cooling down a bit so hope you are feeling it. Hugs
