This is a very old recipe given to me by a family friend. Her name was Deanie... I have always loved her name. She had a very traditional first name that she did not care for. Her middle name was Dean (after her Father) and she chose to use that name. Of course her Mother added the "ie" to make it sound more like a girl's name and it stuck. Mean Green Smoothie...yum yum! I like spinach! I never thought I would say that because growing up, we had cooked spinach out of a can which was my Dad's favorite.
