The Lovers, The Dreamers And Me…
We have established in previous posts that I am a dreamer…a romantic and I am “Me”.
Please allow me to share my thoughts of this early morning….
Today, after rising at zero dark thirty and taking the Captain to the airport….I returned to our home just as the sky was opening up to the most amazing colors!
I made a cup of hot tea… and of course headed for my Secret Garden…my place of solitude….my private time.
The air had a crispness to it….and after a summer of warm and muggy mornings, I welcomed the cool 65 degree temperature!
As I sat so comfortable in my soft, cushioned chair, I noticed a little, pale green frog hopping in and about the plants.
(He was flipping his long tongue in and out…and although I couldn’t see “them”…I am sure he was ridding my garden of the “no-see-ums” that plagued my guest last week.)
Immediately, a song came to mind…(don’t I always have a song?) 🙂
The song was one made famous by the puppet, Kermit the Frog, of Sesame Street Fame...of course in reality, the Jim Henson Puppet Family!
I have always loved this song, sung by a green frog on a children’s television program.
The lyrics pull you into the realization that there is something we don’t understand,… but someday, all will be revealed so that we fully understand.
I find that the song is almost spiritual in nature….yes, a silly little frog singing to children!
As I focused on the little, pale green frog hopping about my garden, I knew the frog had started out life as a tadpole, with gills and a tail….was he thinking that was his “lot in life”? …that he was supposed to swim around all day with all the fishes for the rest of his life?
Or did this little amphibian realize as his body grew legs and lungs, that there was something else he was supposed to be?
It brought my thoughts to myself and those I love…and all others who try to imagine the life that is still before us and the journey we are on!
What is on the other side of the rainbow? What is behind door number two? What waits for us “on the other side”?
If you would like to actually hear the song..and watch Kermit the Frog sing it…click on my “Featured Video” on the upper right side of my Blog’s Home Page.
The questions asked lyrics are below, if you would care to read them:
Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what’s on the other side
Rainbows are visions
But only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we’ve been told
And some choose to believe it
I know they’re wrong, wait and see
Someday we’ll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers, and me
Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
Look what it’s done so far
What’s so amazing that keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see
Someday we’ll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers, and me
All of us under its spell
We know that it’s probably magic
Have you been half asleep
And have you heard voices?
I’ve heard them calling my name
Is this the sweet sound
That called the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I’ve heard it too many times to ignore it
It’s something that I’m supposed to be
Some day we’ll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers, and me
I have to confess…John 3:16 immediately comes to my mind. 🙂
Have a great week-end and enjoy your “Secret Gardens”…no matter where they are. 🙂
AND enjoy each and every frog, butterfly. and bird….
But perhaps you might want to avoid the “no-see-ums”…they are a lot like a mosquito… only smaller.
And they leave nasty little stings and bumps.

Yes you have a song for everything hehe. Hopefully those “no see ums” are on their way out, having feasted on this visitor…..
Your secret garden is lovely and I hope you have positioned your new acquisitions by now.
My frog made it home….. eventually…. suitcase was finally delivered on Saturday.
Hugs from across the pond, to you and your Captain xx

Thanks Ross…so glad your luggage caught up with you!
I have positioned the happy smiling gecko/salamander on the far wall of the Lanai so I can see him while exercising in the pool…or as you and I did, just lounging in the pool. So much fun with you here.
I will send you pics of the “boots” which now reside in my Secret garden along with the parrot. (I found a place to hang him where he will be safe from “predators”….like a strong breeze! hahaha!
Been in the mood to “can” or “put up” veggies…so will post pics of the canning process for salsa and pickles soon.
Thanks for stopping by…
