These Are A Few of My Favorite Things…..
Can you believe that the movie “The Sound of Music” is 50 years old?
Wow! It really doesn’t seem like it, does it?
I really like that movie….I love the music and how it flows through the true story line.
One of the songs that I really like is the song Julie Andrews sings to calm the children during a thunderstorm.
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens….and so on.
I got to thinking of my favorite things and how happy they make me….so I would like to share a few with you on this Wednesday morning.
I love Blogging…and I love when you, my dear readers read and comment…it feels like you are right here with me, enjoying a cup of tea…and perhaps a crumpet or two. 🙂
Since I started this Blog a couple years ago, I have learned a lot of things about myself.
I’ve learned that living in Florida,….. plants, flowers and trees grow 24 hours a day!
Plant a sapling Hibiscus tree today and by the middle of next week you have a small tree.
Ok, maybe not quite that fast, but fast enough.
I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter if my make-up is on or off…large sunglasses and a big floppy hat cover a multitude of sins.
I have grown to love hair clips and hair-holding combs, that I have had stashed in the back of the linen closets for more years than I care to remember!
There are just some things…I just can’t toss out….like the skinny little salsa outfit in a size four that I wore one time 12 years ago!
I think I keep it to remind me of where I was and where I am now….in more ways than one. 😉
I love decorating our home for the Holidays…any Holiday….or just any day I feel like decorating.
Today…I love white everything…..I cleared the tops of my kitchen counter-tops and replaced with my stock of dishes and odds and ends in white.
That might change in a few months, but for now…WHITE!
I have always loved sunrises and sunsets…..and more so now that we live in Florida!
I also enjoy “staging” the bare rooms of the houses the Captain and I flip….it is almost like playing “house”.
I can dare to use Turquoise or Lime Green or both as it is all temporary until the house sells…and then I get to start over on the next one….purple perhaps?
And I have learned that I love the twinkly little green bliss lights that light up my Secret Garden in the warm summer evenings!
I have learned a lot…..!
and about 3,985 other useful and useless pieces of information.
Wishing you a day filled with Grace and Love…..and a few of your favorite things!
PS…..Of course, The Kansas Jayhawks College Basketball team are my favorite as well as my faith in God and the Captain and cooking and recipes and my family and my dear friends and…..I could go on and on, so I will just stop for today! 🙂
